Buyer trying to return a non-defective item- What can I do?

Hello,

I don't accept returns for items, but the buyer stated that the item was defective and so eBay has forced me to accept the return and pay for the return shipping. However, the buyer submitted photos of the item in which the item works exactly as described!  The item looks like it is in good condition and the buyer has just decided they don't want the item anymore- leaving me at a loss of $20 on a $40 item, for the shipping label and the return label. What are my options?

Thanks and best,

- tankrogers

This is a remorse return, buyer is responsible for paying shipping, but since they claimed item is defective you can:

1) Return for full refund, you pay for shipping

2) Refund automatically, buyer keeps item.

3) do nothing, at which point eBay will close on buyers favor, they will refund and allow them to keep item.

Me, I'll go with #1

If you don't accept the return and pay for and send the buyer a return shipping label, ebay will give the buyer a refund (from your money) and let them keep the working item for free!

Some buyers feel they have to lie in order to return an item they no longer want. And when they claim NAD, you're on the hook.

Your options are:

Refund buyer and let them keep it.

Accept the return, pay return shipping and refund buyer once it's returned.

Have a great day.
