Buyer claims they were sold fake games so I asked how they knew they were fake. Instead of telling me how he knew, he immediately threatened to sue me and contact the FBI. Also threatening me with jail time. Later one he told me why he thinks they're fake so I approve the return. Now he's refusing to return the games and claims to be taking them "somewhere." He continues making unreasonable demands.
Have anyone dealt with someone like this? And how did you deal with them? I'm not worried as I know nothing will happen other than the case closing.

Don't do anything unless they open a case. If they do, just respond by offering a full refund after the items are returned.

Threatening you with jail time and the FBI is the height of the this buyers craziness or con!
I would just ignore them and let the return play out.
Maybe their bullying and threats has worked in the past on some sellers to get a refund before a return so now they try it all the time?

I let them run out of hot air and let the clock run out.

Send them a link to the FBI and forget em, unless of course they open a case.

They opened a case and I've already sent the return label. Refuses to return, something isn't right.

It seems like this has worked for them before. Won't work for me, I'm only sending refund when I get the items back. I've already told eBay about what's going on, they said this isn't acceptable behavior.

I think the buyer is afraid of losing ground and their refund if they return so-called fake merch. Tell them kindly that you understand their concern and assure them you will refund upon return and that a pre-paid label was sent to them to return the item and include the steps on how to print it:
Here’s how to print an eBay return shipping label:
Otherwise, they’ll either do a PayPal dispute or even a chargeback if the eBay case closes.

okay this is out of hand. you should call the fbi. he already has threated you and harassed you.

The FBI doesn't handle complaints such as this.
Reminds me of some fruit loops who walked into the police station where I worked to report all kinds of serious crimes, everything from their trash wasn't picked up to their neighbor threatened to call the police on them...

OP, appears the buyer has already opened an eBay return and you have responded by providing a prepaid return shipping label, so going forward there's no need for you to engage the buyer. Stop responding to the messages. No more back and forth. The buyer is now on the clock with eBay and if he doesn't ship the games back within a week or so the return will close out.

Tell them kindly
I would absolutely not contact them again.
Let this play out.

Look at the bright side, they haven't figured out they can send you back an empty box and get a refund.

Yeah, this sounds like a real duzzy possible habitual abuser on here. I would report them. But the OP said they already called Ebay about it so I guess they will investigate if they are a habitual abuser of the ebay policies.

eBay doesn’t care because the return costs you money not eBay money.
Ignore the buyer is the best advice.
It is temping to play along either calling a bluff, laughing at the buyer, or pretending to to be scare just to see where it goes, don’t stoop to the buyer’s level. Besides, any interaction just increases the chances the buyer opens an actual case or negs you. You want to be forgotten and the buyer to sunset off to never be heard from again. Obviously block the buyer
If you get bad feedback, respond to it as if other future will view it and not the buyer. You might even wait near the maximum time if you are fearful the buyer will respond to your follow-up though I have never seen that happen.
