Posting here won't help you. This is a board of just buyers and sellers like you.
You need to communicate directly with whoever you bought the items from and request that they cancel the purchases. There is a "contact seller" button on each sale / listing.

Why did you order more than you needed? It is an inconvenience to the sellers that you now need to try to cancel the sales with.

If the seller hasn't shipped yet @realgolfer55 you can send a message and ask them to cancel, but the seller is not required to accept the cancellation. Most sellers will work with you if they haven't shipped yet and/or if their internal systems allow it at this stage.
If you're not able to work out a cancellation with the seller, that leaves you with a possible return.
After the alternators arrive you can file a request with the reason "ordered by mistake" - make sure you choose the quantity 3 when filing the return. The system may default to the 4 you ordered.
If the seller has a "no returns" policy they are within their rights to decline your request in which case you can always keep, sell, gift, or donate the extras. Depending on return shipping costs, you may find it more effective to keep/sell/donate than pay for shipping.

You have to ask to cancel the Sales which is sadly a huge inconvenience to the seller but if you get it quickly enough you can spare them any anguish of shipping etc. But be more careful in the future because the seller doesn't have to accept the cancelation
