When I called Customer No-Service to ask about the problem printing international shipping labels, I had 3 different agents tell me that the USPS no longer allowed shipping any merchandise internationally.  All used the same exact words, so this was obviously a script.  Who wrote that script and why?  When a problem exists why can ebay never admit they are wrong?

Hi @mongoose26 - there was incorrect information given to teammates initially, which is why you would have gotten that message.

We've definitely gotten the underlying issue corrected as of yesterday and the customer service information was corrected as of Monday afternoon.

Sorry for the trouble!

When we were looking for information, you personally, cut and pasted a response incuding a link to Facebook.  I would like to inform you several members here are not on Facebook, and thus your link was meaningless.  Was there some problem with putting that response here on ebay, you know, where your customers are?  You seem to have reasonable cut and paste skills,  you could have just cut and pasted the answer over here.

Hi @mongoose26, I believe I was the individual who shared a link to our eBay for Business page and the information being discussed there. I understand that you and others may not be on Facebook, and encourage you to consider registering an account for your business. We have a great Seller Center page dedicated to how Social Media can help you boost sales that I think would be helpful to review.  While creating a Facebook for personal reasons would of course be a decision only you can make, having one for your business is a great tool to further your success.

As for this specific situation, I do want to clarify that at the time I posted to the boards and stated this was a known issue, there was no additional information on Facebook beyond our acknowledgement of this being a known issue. I apologize if my post made it seem that those who have chosen not to register a Facebook account were missing information. When more details became available, they were shared on the Facebook thread I linked to and also an announcment was published on the Community Boards.

Hi @mallontown

If the thread were open for a day before our team answered questions, there would be hundreds of questions. In an hour this thread already has over 100 posts - our team would spend the rest of the week answering the questions just on the thread. That means all our energy is focussed here and we would not have visibility of what is happening in the wider Community. That doesn't seem like a good idea!

We feel that our time is best spent monitoring buyer & seller-driven conversations across the entire Community, reporting internally issues we're spotting on the boards and also engaging in threads where we can add value to the conversation by providing eBay's point of view.

I truly believe that the beauty of our Community is that it's a member-to-member Community - buyers & sellers connecting together to help each other out. The Community is not a Customer Support channel; if you have questions for eBay at any time, you can contact our Customer Service team either by the phone or if you prefer writing to us online, you can Tweet us or Facebook us.

I'm happy to provide links to our Social pages if you'd like them.

Thanks!

Speaking of shipping estimates...
ebay KNOWS that USPS delivers late x days x% of the time.
KNOWING THAT...why is there not a DATE RANGE given?
Why hold sellers to a std THEY know is maybe 90% attainable, and pretend <100% is unacceptable?
If you found my reply useful, please give it a Helpful. If my response assisted in resolving your question, please click "Accept as Solution."

Hi @mallontown - our estimate uses a combination of USPS' estimate as well as historical delivery performance for packages. Based on that we feel confident in the estimate provided to the buyer.

We realize that there are extenuating circumstances and that occasionally items are delayed. That's why our goals are not set at 100% in order to attain recognition or status. Thanks!

Hi @ncacheer - we're excited to hear you want to be a part of the Guaranteed Delivery program! We're still working on getting everyone interested involved, as you know, and don't currently have an update on when you can anticipate being accepted.

What can ebay do for US seller who experienced a drop in sales this year.

I think a big problem is the  influx of all the chinese fakes with low prices.

Has ebay ever considered helping USA sellers by making the default search on the Ebay.com (United States site) as being US.  There could still be the radio boxes for other countries.

We USA sellers at at a disadvantage because ebay does not police its own site correctly

Hi @mallontown, we absolutely do not allow fake items on the site. We have teams reviewing the site 24 hours a day, 356 days a year to identify concerns and keep the site safe. If you have seen something we missed, you can report this directly from the listing and we will be happy to look into this further for appropriate action and improvements to our filters.

Additionally, our goal is to provide as many options as possible for our buyers. As a global marketplace, this will include items sourced from our international sellers. We do provide filters on the left side of the search page to narrow down search results and filter by item location.

I know that staying competitive can be challenging in an ever changing market, particularly around the Holidays. I encourage you to review our Seller Center for tips on improving your listings and growing your business

Following up previous chat from above

Thanks for the tips but it really does not address the problem.

Also it should be 365.25 days

here is 1 search disney necklace , are there any on the whole page that are not fake/counterfiet knockoffs or whatever other name you want to use ? I can do this with 100"s if not 1000's of searches

If you click on the link you gave about "do not allow fake items" on the site it takes you to an ebay page where a report can be made but if you click on it here is what you get

Why is it that ebay keeps recommending that I lower prices on certain items when that item is already selling fine at the cost listed?

This poor suggestion is found in the seller hub when I click on the Growth tab.

Hi @mallontown, recommendations are based on sales for similar items. If you are satisfied with the success you are experiencing at the price you have set, then there is no need to implement these suggestions.

I would love to know how to easily update pricing when dealing with variations. We have a lot of them and just got a price update from a suppleir and need to fix them.   Such an ordeal.

Hi @mallontown - basic instructions on how to do this is here. Once you have the revise screen open you should be able to choose 'view variations' and edit pricing from there. This is a great idea for a future TKB article - thanks!

Why is it that ebay allows buyers who are put on an individual sellers block buyer list to just sign up a new account or use another 2nd account to bid/buy more items?

Ebay says they protect sellers but I see this as another money grab by ebay with no reguard to the sellers.

Hi @mallontown, we have a policy in place regarding this issue. If you find a buyer is going against this policy then please report them so appropriate action can be taken.

Ebay staff please let me know if this is a correct statement.

On ebay USA ebay.com and other ebay worldwide sites a seller can not sell a fixed price buy it now item in 2 or more buy it now auctions, sellers are only allowed to list 1 fixed buy it now auction for each individual item.

Ebay staff please let me know if this is allowed by ebay.

Seller sets  up 2 stores and sells the same fixed price buy it now item (usually different titles but same exact item)  once in both stores.

If you found my reply useful, please give it a Helpful. If my response assisted in resolving your question, please click "Accept as Solution."

Hey @mallontown, a seller is able to list the same item at the same fixed price on multiple eBay sites (eBay.com, eBay.de, eBay.ca, etc) as long as the international shipping options do not cause search results to be cluttered on any one site.

In your specific example, since you have mentioned multiple stores this would mean the seller has more than one account. Definitely want to clarify that seller cannot list the same item at a fixed price on more than one account without violating our Duplicate Listing policy.

On the sell your item page there is a radio checkbox for international visibility.

I did not choose it.

I logged into eBay UK to see my listing and there are there and show my items converted pricing in  UK pound cost.

So what exactly is the .50 charge for as I already show my items as being listed on the UK site?

Is ebays "Monetization team" (a Griff joke , I'm hoping) charging sellers extra for something they get for free anyway?

I posted this in the ebay for business fb group as well, i am reiterating I really feel it needs to be said again and with much greater consideration. Ebay gave the shipping supplies benefit to us in the spring 2017 update to soften the store fee increase, as an offset. To me, that is $300 in boxes a year. Why is ebay allowing ebayshippingsupplies to discontinue box sizes? Shouldn’t ebay be monitoring the benefits they give their sellers? This is a benefit to me that I can no longer use. All 3 box sizes that I use are discontinued 10x10x10, 12x12x12, 18x14x12. As boxes are the only thing I use from ebayshippingsupplies, I can no longer use my coupons. On top of that, no notice…I was all ready to order and have my new shipment here in a week….so here I am spending time researching costs for boxes from other vendors and having it come out of pocket on top of that. This has left me feeling very frustrated, paying out of pocket is a huge consideration for me as a small seller. I relied upon this benefit from ebay. Unless larger boxes become available again this quarter, the only way I see to recoup some of my cost would be to become a reseller of ebay tape - which I really don’t want to do, its so silly, but I'm not going to throw money away. Thanks for listening, it takes a lot for me to post, as I am a very positive person - most difficulties sort themselves out. If anyone else sees this and is in the same position, please like this post or comment. ~p

I quickly scanned, and didn't see this:

FedEx SmartPost rates went up, I think 2 days ago. Currently, Buyers are being charged the OLD rates, while Sellers are being charged the new rates. The rate difference can be significant. I had a "free" shipping sale, small package, less than 4 pounds. I shipped PM for $4 less than SmartPost, but this worked out only because the buyer was in a nearby zone.

Fix it please!!

Hi @dcintennessee - we've reported similar concerns and are waiting for more details, thanks!

Apologies if this has already been addressed:

I took a non-eBay package to the Post Office that weighed 15oz. They said it had to go Priority, because First Class stops at 13oz.
I know I have sent parcels weighing more than 13 oz by First Class in eBay.

Is that a change resulting from the new USPS rates?

Or is that some deal eBay has with USPS that mere mortals can't access?

Hi @vrykalak - eBay Labels get Commercial Plus pricing from the USPS, which allows you to send up to 15.99 ounces as First Class. If you take your mail to the counter they won't offer the same pricing.

Hi @golfingaddict, I would caution against viewing this as something personal, and instead consider how you as a business could benefit from the feedback of your customers. If you ran a brick and mortar store and received reviews for your location that stated "runs large", you could adjust the signage in your store to more clearly indicate the range of measurements. You could also train your employees to discuss measurements with customers. In ecommerce, the equivalent would be adjusting your description.

A negative feedback is not a punishment. It is not a matter of right or wrong, only a discussion about the roles and responsibilities of those involved. Your customer is providing you with information you can use to improve. Even if you disagree with this information, it is still valuable to receive. This is the cornerstone of successful business.

Again, I'm happy to pass this on for consideration, but I wanted to touch on how we may not be able to make the adjustments you may be hoping for. Either way, thank you so much for your input! Definitely going to get this to the right teams for consideration.
