The policy change is that there are separate metrics in GLOBAL transactions. That is a delinquent report in my opinion, since it did not allow us to have a lookback period that we can act upon.
Hi @rosevelyn, you would have been able to review and take action for up to 90 days after the defect occurred last November. While changes may occur to how metrics are calculated and in how they are displayed to you as your business evolves, these potential changes are outlined on the site and we do encourage you to contact us for any concerns you may have at the time that this occurs.
In short, the 12-month lookback does contain information that you cannot change now but it would have been eligible for then. Additionally, the data from a 12-month review period still provides valuable information to you about your business even if it cannot be adjusted beyond the 90-day timeframe we have discussed.

On the topic of shipping and inexplicable glitches lately:
We recently sent a package to Puerto Rico. The package came back as wrong or incomplete address. The buyer wrote us, wondering where his item was, and I told him it had been returned. He double-checked his address registered with eBay and with PayPal - and we both realized that eBay/Pitney Bowes (we print labels directly from eBay) consistently removed an entire section of the address when the label was created! No matter how many times I tried or even switched the street/street number around, a highly pertinent part was simply dropped.
And yes, the complete address was present until that crucial point.
I ended up having to manually write the information in on the label, and hopefully the item gets to him this time.
Have there been any other similar reports?

As I'm sure you can imagine, this is a HUGE problem. For many reasons.
Now I need to review every variation listing I have posted.
Correct / add pics as needed which can be a lot of pics.
Potentially losing sales as the buyer can't see what they are actually purchasing.
Or potentially a SNAD because the buyer assumed something about the item that would have been noticed in the pic, but the pic was not there.
And so on.
This is a great deal of work. Why does this issue keep coming back?
Hi @mam98031, we're happy to look into this and get it reported. Can you provide some example item numbers this has occurred on? That will give us some data to research and send over.
brian@ebay The issues with variation listings are detailed in posts in the Techinical Issues, Selling and Power seller forums. A number of sellers have been pushing on not just the photo issue, but several other with variation listings. Currently it sounds like editting a variation listing is not currently a very productive process.

I've already corrected the ones I've found as I can't wait for Ebay to fix them for me, which isn't likely they could fix them anyway.
Will giving you those listings numbers be enough or do you need it to be listings I have not corrected? And if I do it that way, how long will it take for them to fix them as the longer it takes, the less likely I am to have a sale on that listing?

Hi @rivers9701, this is a concern we have recently passed along to the appropriate teams for review. If you have a zip code and item number to share here as an example, we'll be happy to pass this along. That being said, we do sometimes see this when the buyer's postal code provided is the full 9 digit zip used by USPS, but the shipping method you are using is via another carrier that does not use the final four digits.
Pardon a quibble, but it's a ZIP code, not a "postal code." The whiff of offshore programming is strong there.
Seriously, though: postal codes are used in Canada, India and the UK, among other places, but not in the U.S., where we have Zone Improvement Plan codes instead. And if you thought parsing a ZIP+4 code was tricky (it isn't; if the shipping method doesn't want the ZIP+4 extension on the end, then for Heaven's sake just strip it off and stop complaining about it), parsing an alphanumeric postal code may be a real challenge. For example, how many characters make up a complete postal code? (Hint: there is more than one right answer)

Interesting! So if I change the shipping address to remove the +4 of the ZIP code, will eBay still allow me to send it? and will I still have the seller protections as if I had NOT changed the shipping address in this way?Actually, when you go to print the Shipping label, the address is validated against the USPS database behind the scenes, and the correct ZIP+4 code is applied at that time. So if you take off the +4 suffix in order to get your ZIP code past the flakiness of the eBay interface, the USPS validation will stick it right back on again (correctly) after that.
Thus I don't think you can actually print a 5-digit ZIP in the first place; it'll magically come out as ZIP+4 when the address as a whole is validated.
Right.
The +4 is for USPS use only, it makes not one whit of difference in the address or the deliverability of the package.
But the initial answer to the question of why eBay sometimes rejects addresses said: if you are not using USPS, the ZIP +4 may be why eBay is rejecting the address.
Now we are told we can't fix that, because the system will just add the +4 back in. So, what are we supposed to do to avoid/repair this problem?

If someone could please pass on to the team working on the new and improved shipping label page:
It is not an improvement:
To have to change the date on a holiday weekend. The old page defaults to the "next business day". For those of us that print labels the night before, it prints the current date as the shipping date. The old shipping page defaults to the next business date if we print after 5PM pacific time and on Sunday and holidays.
And
It is not an improvement if we cannot use the 15.9 ounce shipping weight. It only accepts up to 15 ounces. The old shipping label lets you put in 16 ounces which rounds down to 15.9 ounces on the label.
Could they please "improve" the new improved shipping labels so that it incorporates a date change and the 15.9 ounce shipping.
Thank you.
Hi @golf-usga,
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback on this page. I'm happy to pass this over to the Shipping team for their attention.

In addition to this, Why does Ebay continue to label a sale to Puerto Rico as an international sale?

Got a problem with a USPS employee but it has now been corrected BUT scans are not gonna show correct on tuesdays shipment.
It seems a usps employee was not scanning a scan sheet correct. Scans are showing 5 hours later and or nothing at all. USPS could rescan the sheet but that would put us deeper in the hole with Ebay.
Now anyone can look at a map and see how far it is from the east coast to the west coast. Why will I be dinged on late shipments when a label was printed on tuesday on the east coast but the first scan shows anywhere from 400 to 1000 miles away in just a few days.
Problem has been corrected as I met with my post master to discuss this and this employee was checking NO on the scan sheet after scanning when they should have checked YES and it would then ask them for the number of items on that scan sheet.
Hi @automotivepartsrecyclrs, though I understand this may have an impact on your business, we do view the shipping courier as an extension of your business, as you contract with them to fulfill a service for accurate, safe and timely delivery. While we are unable to adjust for any late scans due to mistakes of your carrier, it sounds like you've taken the steps we would recommend in this situation and you shouldn't run into any issues moving forward.

I'd like to ensure all my listings are mobile-friendly when it comes to font sizing/spacing/layout.Is there a way to bulk edit all of my current active listings to eliminate the "viewport meta tag" problem? The Bulk Edit tool does not support the Mobile Friendly checker. Items will have to be revised individually to get them updated.
Actually brian - I've been able to bulk edit my listings - edit description - switch it over to html and add <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">.
All my listings are then mobile compliant without doing it individually. I suggest trying it on a couple of listings first before you do a massive bulk edit. It's worked in the past.

One last thing...
Is there any way that you can get help for that seller and remove the neg regarding the cancellation thing?
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/I-got-a-Neg-for-doing-the-right-thing/m-p/28925467#M1279450
It's so undeserved and really eBay's fault he got it.
This is his neg:
"I canceled 2 mins after paying. 1 hr later he says its already ship"

If eBay knows there is a problem with a buyer's address, it should help the buyer fix it rather than pass the problem on to the seller. The buyer should not be able to proceed until eBay is satisfied that a proper address was entered. What does eBay expect me to do with a bad address? If a seller corrects a bad address, they risk losing seller protections by not shipping to the address on record. EBay has to take responsibility for providing valid shipping addresses to sellers. Once a buyer pays me, I am usually required to provide next-day shipping, so I don't have time to communicate with buyers or research addresses. And even if I did, I shouldn't have to. When will eBay "address" this problem?
Hi @rivers9701, ...we do sometimes see this when the buyer's postal code provided is the full 9 digit zip used by USPS, but the shipping method you are using is via another carrier that does not use the final four digits. This may not be the case for your specific example, but is something to consider should you run into this while we work on enhancements.
Interesting! So if I change the shipping address to remove the +4 of the ZIP code, will eBay still allow me to send it? and will I still have the seller protections as if I had NOT changed the shipping address in this way?
Hi @vrykalak, our expectation is that you ship to the address the buyer has provided to you. Since eliminating the additional 4 digits that USPS uses in shipment will not change where the package is being shipped to, this would not lead to a loss of seller protection. The +4 zip is unnecessary for USPS and unused by other carriers. If you ever have concerns, you are welcome to contact your buyer or Customer Service for assistance.

While we're on the subject, it's been months since the missing Ship From ZIP functionality was pointed out, and they have yet to correct that omission on the new Shipping form. Has there been any progress on that yet? The new Shipping form is not ready for prime time without that functionality in place.

Hi @scga912,
Thanks for calling this one out. We did send this over to the Help Hub team for their consideration a couple of weeks ago when you posted about it. We're going to contact them to advise that it has come up again in the Community and see if they are going to update the page.
I'm hoping that we'll have news on this soon.
Thank you. Thanks for your reply. I know you can only do what you are doing, and it is so very much appreciated. However, I don't really understand what there is to consider. The information on the Cancellation page for Buyers is in direct opposition to the information on the Cancellation page for Sellers. Maybe Legal needs to be notified too?
Hi @scga912,
From the outside, it may seem like it should be a quick fix.... but we do prioritize site content updates. So, maybe they're working on other content updates that they deem to be more urgent than this one, or maybe they make site updates in batches, and this is in the plans for the next batch of updates. I'm not entirely sure as I haven't worked on that team before, but we've prodded them to see what's the latest on this one and we'll keep prodding them.
Thanks & hope you're doing well!
