I seem to be missing something about ebay's logic.

All those people that complained about ebay adding best offer to listings when they didn't want it, while I want to add it but can't.

Can you fill me in on the reasoning?

We've been trying to get them to just the opposite -- restrict all MV listings to a single price per listing for any and all variations within that listing.  I certainly hope they don't add the additional complication of B/O.

Hi @mallontown, we absolutely do not allow fake items on the site. We have teams reviewing the site 24 hours a day, 356 days a year to identify concerns and keep the site safe. If you have seen something we missed, you can report this directly from the listing and we will be happy to look into this further for appropriate action and improvements to our filters.

Additionally, our goal is to provide as many options as possible for our buyers. As a global marketplace, this will include items sourced from our international sellers. We do provide filters on the left side of the search page to narrow down search results and filter by item location.

I know that staying competitive can be challenging in an ever changing market, particularly around the Holidays. I encourage you to review our Seller Center for tips on improving your listings and growing your business.

In the more distant past, if I did a search for an item on ebay, only the ones that had those words in it would show up.

Now it's anyones guess as to what shows up.

Agree! eBay's search engine used to be the best in the universe. 
It allowed AND, OR, and NOT clauses, and showed exactly and only results that matched the search terms. 
As soon as eBay invented Best Match, their search algorithms went nuts. 
Now I'm lucky if half the results contain all my keywords.

And I NEVER use Best Match. I always search for Price + Shipping.

I always use Advanced Search. I have two tabs open all the time, one for Advanced Search for active items, and one for Advanced Search of completed items.
My comment stands: eBay's search engine doesn't work anymore.
And your answer on another comment confirms it: eBay no longer cares about your keywords, but provides results it thinks are "relevant" to your search...in other words, eBay's search engine knows better than I do what I'm searching for!

Please note also that not all categories have the option to list with variations at all.  For instance you can't list a Baseball card of say Frank Thomas (#63 First Base Chicago White Sox from year 2000) and offer a choice between a Crown Pacfic, Fleer or Tops card... as that would be considered a "choice" not a 'variation' and is not allowed as one listing unless you sold all 3 of them as a "lot" (the whole group to one buyer at the same time).  A variation would be a shirt in different colors or sizes for example.

Just sayin' that even if Best Offer were available, please be certain that your category allows variations in the first place. 🙂  Good luck with your sales!!

I included an example of an auction today 12/20 with delivery date of 12/23 to compare with usps saying all first class needed to be shipped 12/19 for Christmas delivery.

Thanks. Whats going on with the shipping team not knowing usps holidays? The prevoius large issue was that ebay did not know Veterans day was Novermber 11th

During the eBay label creation process, why does eBay delete the full 9-digit zip code provided by the buyer during Paypal checkout. Such a nuisance to have to add it back! ~~C~~
