Are there any updates on Ebay fixing the BEPP program or more specifically those that purchase something under $1000 not having any buyer protection at all in this category?

And how do we advise buyers that are falling into this pit.  There are more and more buyers coming to the threads and the AAM with this issue.  We can't just tell them they are SOL.  And we shouldn't just tell them to contact Ebay since it is Ebay's policy that is preventing them from having any protections.  So what do we do to help them?

So there is nothing we can tell the buyers that are out their money.  Well except to go to their funding source and file a complaint??!!!

For a few weeks now, when I go to my "Unsold and not relisted" and relist an item, then click on "Relist another", instead of going back into "Unsold and not relisted", it defaults to "All statuses".

This requires 3 extra clicks for every relist I do compared to how it used to be.

I hope this isn't an intentional change. If it is intentional, is there any way for me to revert to how it used to be?

Hi @mam98031 - the best course of action would be to ask them to contact CS so it can be manually reviewed for appropriate appeal.

@mam98031 they can absolutely reach out to CS to see if anything manually can be done before and to report the seller for sure!

@mam98031  there are reports of similar issues going on with items being listed in Services/Warranties & Insurance categories not having buyer protection applied.  Some buyers have stated they were told they would be protected after contacting support multiple times, but I agree - it shouldn't be this hard and there should be a better path for resolution.

Just out of curiosity, how do you ask for an appeal of something or a case that hasn't been filed?

Hi @mam98031 - I'm sorry my terminology wasn't accurate for the use case you provided.

A buyer should be asked to contact CS in the event they report this on the boards so that CS can review any options to make the buyer whole (requesting a credit on their behalf, opening a request manually, etc).

I see ebay Seller School is now eBay Academy. I had completed some courses in Seller School a while back....are these all new courses, and, if not, is there a quick way to distinguish new courses from old courses?

Thank you for that SAD information.

I just can't in all good conscience advise a buyer to contact Ebay for help in these matters that is likely to turn into multiple call and a whole lot of time before anything positive MIGHT happen.

It is far easier for the buyer to just go to their funding source and filing a chargeback.  I personally absolutely hate chargebacks as a seller and I don't give that option to buyers very often, but in these cases it seems to be the most efficient way for a buyer to protect themselves and their money.

How Ebay could allow this to happen in the first place is beyond my ability to understand.  These polices aren't created and implemented by a single person.  They are teams of people working on these and multiple reviews before a policy is released.  How in the world did something this serious get past everyone?  Or did it?

Hi @carlqsportscards! I'm not aware of any intentional change to that process but I'll see what I can find out. In the mean time, where possible, you could relist more than one item at a time to help deter some of those additional clicks you're currently experiencing.
