what do i do i sellect the wrong reason and now have to pay a refund even though the payment was agreed on both parties to be cancelled

You've left out details that would be helpful in getting an accurate response.

if a buyer paid and wants to cancel and the seller agrees then the seller cancels and refunds.

Are you the buyer?

Are you the seller?

If the buyer requested is the reason the seller chose then the seller doesn't get a defect.

If the seller chose out of stock as the reason then they get a defect.

There are no do-overs.
