"items" is in/on my Search box???

For some time now everytime I open EBay, in the "box" where you type in what you want to look for.....

is the word "items", I have to delete it so I can enter my Search choice.  I have not been able to find any help features that I can use to get it permanently deleted.

That is one I have not seen before. eBay seems to be changing things around in the search field -- the dreaded magnifying glass icon recently made a reappearance. It might be worth trying another browser just to see if it looks different. If so, try signing out of eBay and deleting the eBay cookies and cache files in your original browser, and restart the browser; it is possible that one of the recent changes has left one of your eBay cookies with some bad data.
