"Sorry, this user was not found." but my account is still active?

Running into a strange issue with my account that is primarily made for purchasing. I have had successful orders so far, all with 100% positive feedback, both given and received. I'm logged in, able to use the website normally, view my order history, view other products and seller profiles, etc. Everything works fine. 

But, when I click on my username or try to view my profile, I get the following message: "Sorry, this user was not found."

I thought it was a glitch so I logged out and back in but the issue still remains? I tried to view my profile outside of my account, like through an incognito browser, and it still showed the same message. I also have the eBay app on my iPhone and everything works fine except for when I click on my username, and yep, still the same message. 

I have never changed my username and to my knowledge, I haven't violated any eBay policies. Haven't messaged anyone either except for when I was communicating about an offer with a seller that ended successfully. 

Could this be a system bug or something else I'm missing? Has anyone seen this before? I'm starting to get a little worried.

Hey @shrms96Thank you for reporting this issue. This is a known sitewide issue for where members are reporting that when they click on their user name to see their feedback profile, it says "Sorry, this user was not found". There is a ticket open to have it resolved under ALERT16173.

I just checked and my buying account is doing the "user not found" thing too. Somebody else also posted a similar thread about 20 min before you posted this one. So don't worry, it's not just you. Solution? Sit tight and give it a couple days. Over the weekend the preview button in the listing tool stopped working right. As of yesterday it's functioning normally again and the likely reason it went down has become apparent: the section where you enter shipping dimensions now accepts half numbers. Bet it'll be something like that in this case as well. Nothing has actually happened to any of the data for your user account &/or profile, some back-end change has just inadvertently severed the pathway that the ebay.com/usr/username pages use to connect to and display that data. Can only speculate as to what it might be but my money's on the new automated feedback thing. Anyway. Doesn't seem like this is anything to worry about. If it's not ironed out within a couple days, then we can maybe start wondering if some unpleasant surprise might be in the works. Honestly with stuff like this I need like a solid week and a half of "thing broken" before any thoughts of worry stop seeming premature.

Good to know. I had a buyer reach out because he forgot his PO box, asked for it to be reshipped once it was auto returned. His profile said not found but I can see his feedback and can respond to his message. I was wondering what was going on. Not just me!

I had the same thing this morning. When I clicked on the buyer's feedback number, it appeared. The user name and feedback links are separate. I came on here for a totally unrelated issue so will search for THAT. Maybe another glitch. 🙄😲

Im having the same issue trying to contact a seller where their account is still up but it gives me the pop up when I message them

Try contacting the seller through the seller's feedback page or from an item listing.
