"Select payment type" infinite loop

Right after I've logged in, I am presented the "Select payment type" box (before even trying to list an item).

It's a completely independent window, only an ebay logo at the center and the 3 options (paypal, bank, credit card) below.

Sometimes it happens right when I log-in, and sometimes when i try to access any of the personal pages.

For example when clicking the "sell" or "my eBay" links at the top right corner.

 

I fill those details, and after that I am required to answer some "business type" questions.

And when I'm done, I am being redirected to the same "Select payment" window all over again!

At this point, when I've done it once, I can just type ebay.com at the address bar and continue using ebay.

But when I log-in next time, I'll have to go through the entire process all over again.

 

I've had this issue when I created this account 1 year ago, then I just stopped using it.

Now I tried again and the problem is still there.

I tried contacting support but for some reason, they are unable to replicate the problem.

I am guessing it's related to the fact that they are connected to their internal ebay network.

I dunno how exactly it's related, but apparently, it does.

 

The representative herself tells me that all the details are fine and everything works perfectly on her side.

I've obviously cleaned cache/cookies or whatever, tried multiple browsers and even a different computer in a different network.

Not just once but in 2 different years.

I think I've ruled out anything that can be related to the client side.

 

But the representative tells me that she can't replicate the problem, therefore there's nothing else she can do to help me!

She says that If she can't replicate it, then the technical team won't be able to do so as well and it's pointless to redirect the issue to them.

So eBay decides to ignore the issue rather than acknowledging the fact that they have a problem in their system that should be resolved.

 

I am stuck with a barely functional account and there's nothing I can do about it.

 

Did anyone hear about the same issue before?

Have you actually ever successfully set up a "Reimbursement payment method" ?

What you are describing sounds like eBay (poorly) trying to enforce their requirement to have a seller pocket available for them to dip into.

What do you see when you go here: https://my.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbay&CurrentPage=MyeBayPersonalInfo
and look at "Reimbursement payment method" under the "Financial Info" section towards bottom of page? Is there a payment method specified? If not, try setting it up there and see if the loop occurs.

If not, I guess you have a buggy account with some sort of embedded gremlin.
