Hi all 🙂
I have tried for several days now to "File a report", but the drop down windows for "Report category" etc. does not work. Hence unable to file report. Still running windows 7 but have tried on several pc's in both Explorer and Chrome with the same result. Anybody else have this issue?
Sincerely

eBay do you really think that we are stupid to not understand that you do not want to get reports about scams because you make money out of them??

The reporting does not work on Chrome, has not been operational for over a year. You can report from the phone app or another browser. According to other posts Safari is not compatible either.

Still doesn't work. Tried Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera on Win 10. Safari and ebay app on iPhone. And Chrome, edge + Ebay app on Android. Have anyone had any luck with reporting an item yet?

Try reporting the listing on ebay.ca instead of ebay.com -- in some cases that works better for me.
Sometimes reporting returns an error if the item is already in the process of being removed.
I just reported several listings successfully yesterday on ebay.com, so the report item feature seems to be working on eBay's end.

I agree, me too. Same problem.
Ebay must be INTENTIONALLY not allowing to report "Incorrect item description". There's just no such selection under their numerous drop down menus. This is why I avoid using ebay as much as possible.
For the item that is misrepresented with a wrong catalogue number, while the seller states in large capital letters that they only sell guaranteed genuine items, there is no matching selection. The best I could do was:
REPORT CATEGORY: Listing practices
REASON FOR REPORT: Inappropriate item description (FAIL! because at the third menu there's no match!)
REASON FOR REPORT: Other listing practices (you would guess this one will be fine!)
DETAILED REASON: No match at all, not even close!
Thus unable to report the seller who misrepresents their item.
For such a large company ebay either are incompetent idiots or crooks. In the above case it is a banknote listing that gives a completely wrong catalogue number, but in other cases it was plants, such as palm trees tat were intentionally misrepresented, selling cheap palms as rare ones. Ebay does not have a good match to report it and there is no comments field to explain what is wrong with the listing. I believe that ebay does this intentionally.
