"Can't process payment" when checking out, even when not tried to pay?

What the hell is going on with ebay lately? I am trying to pay for my items and I keep getting error messages. As soon as I enter my "pay now" check out, I either get "we ran into a problem" or "sorry we can't process your payment" even though I haven't paid for anything or tried to? Then when I try to remove some items from my cart to only pay one item or so, I get message that seller doesn't ship to me which is completely untrue. Customer service has been useless. Ebay is becoming such a drag for buyers. Anyone else experiencing this? Tried on different browsers and phone, same story.

I've had this problem for over a month now.  The solution seems to be to ask the seller to send you an invoice.  Even when you get the invoice, you might still see an error message if trying to buy multiple items.  Select a single item, click on the pay button, and you should be able to pay for everything.

I notice you are registered in Canada, but you are currently posting on the US community site.

 

Are you trying to check out on ebay.com or ebay.ca?

 

Is it possible your seller is not set up to ship to Canada? Is the seller new to selling?

 

It might be worth trying to check out on the other site if you have not already done so. See if the items appear in your Purchase History. Each site has a different cart system, so be sure not to commit to a new transaction if you are already committed on the other site.

 

If you are committed to purchase an item, see if you can pay directly from the item page rather than using the cart.
