iphone 5 ebay app update fails

I cant open my ebay app on my iphone 5.  It keeps telling me i need to update but the update doesnt work.  Apparently requires IOS 12.  No longer able to use this phone to do ebay.  Am i the only dinosour having this problem?  Called ebay, was informed that I will no longer be able to use my phone with the ebay app.

It would seem that ebay could fix this if they wanted to.

I am experiencing the same issue. Surely there is a way around this. This is devastating news on many levels. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

If you cannot upgrade to iOS 11, you should still be able to reach ebay.com using a browser.
