This is really strange. Ebay's main page (or any sub page) is not loading on most of the computers I own. It worked less than a week ago. The failure seems more dependent on what OS is used than which browser.
The failure looks like:
Request Timeout
The server timed out while waiting for the browser's request.
Reference #2.e520b144.1505593232.0
The reference number changes from attempt to attempt.
2.dc20b144.1505600280.0
2.c520b144.1505595774.0
Linux/Firefox/Chrome -- fail
MacOS10.5.8/TenFourFox/Safari -- fail
iOS9.3.5/Safari -- success
Windows10/Firefox/Chrome/Edge -- success
FreeBSD/Firefox -- success
All of these worked a week ago. Also, the OSes which no longer work can use a text browser such as lynx to render the front page. Of course, no java script so the site isn't useful; but the point is the problem may not be OS based.
I was trying to buy parts when this happened.

I suppose I'd check each of those combos a couple of times per day to see if the same ones fail and the same ones succeed. Keep a record of when it started and how long it persisted.
This could point to a serious technical missing element on eBay's end. I only have Windows 10 here and use Chrome and Edge regularly. Also have IE on my machine so could check that. No other OS except Android phones, and I don't use those for eBay much.
I'd try to figure out how to get your detailed report to someone who matters at eBay. The phone reps won't understand this. Zero chance. None.
Try copy and pasting the link to this thread where you can write in detail and clicking on "Comments?" links on pages such as on Seller Hub. Select 1 for the survey question (the worst response.) Add your email address to the last field. I've had my comments there with a link back to here be picked up by someone who appeared to be on the programming side and he replied to me on email.
You need to circumvent the normal Customer Service process. Perhaps someone from eBay who monitors these boards could get this to the right department.
