I heard that ebay is using so called "session replay" scripts to completely capture your every keystroke and mouse moves. This includes your password and account information etc. This a gross privacy issue and also a big security risk as most of these scripts are part of third party plug-ins or add-ons. But..is it really true that eBay allows this? And what do we expect eBay to do about it, if it is true. For now I assume it is true... At the least my user experience suffers a lot, I hate when I am being spied upon.
This is not about keeping track of purchases and searches, it is about taking away the last shred of privacy.

Hopefully they will spy on the posts here in the community and do something about all the problems-sellers and buyers are daily posting about.

Does that mean they can use my camera to see me in my matching red heels and thong?
Did I say that out loud?

Do you keep your phone in the same room with you when you sleep, shower, etc? Do you spend time worrying about the reach of the NSA/FBI/etc? Do you refrain from flying because of the invasive searches?
Not the same, you say? it is exactly the same!
New flash! There are people/organizations that intend harm to persons and/or will steal their money.
Even if they do not steal from me directly, by stealing from eBay, they cause my eBay rates to rise.
If the script actually does exist, the theives have already cost me and others, besides eBay, money, because eBay has to take steps to combat the thefts. And that is all I see here.
I want to play this eBay game. So I play by eBay rules. Don't always like it, but that is the way it is.
Now if the script watches other sessions besides the eBay sessions, then we have some privacy problems. Do you have any info to support that?
Dang! My soapbox broke! Anyone got an extra?

Of course our online presence is being forever monitored, for all kinds of reasons.
I went to the website link,
I scrolled the sampling of 1250+ entries. Many well known web addresses in the sampling, but specifically didn't see eBay PayPal Etsy or Amazon in that sampling.
The article also offers an expanded list (zipped CSV file)
of over?? 10k entries. I don't have THAT kind of time to view all 10k+, however
seems highly likely the above missing ecommerce websites, would be (or eventually, will be)
on the master CSV list.

Sorry, that goes beyond porn.
Besides, I would not want to be responsible for bringing down eBay's servers. They seem to be a bit sensitive.
