eBay changing all clickable text color to black!! Awful!!!

eBay is now changing all the clickable text color on it's web pages from BLUE with an underline in blue (so you know it's clickable) to, drum roll please... Pure black with no underlining, just like all the other text on their web page. So, now in eBay's infinite (stupid) wisdom, we have no idea what is clickable and what is not clickable unless we move our mouse over the text on their entire web page to see what ultimately turns blue. ABSOLUTE NONSENSE!!! How on earth is this "BETTER"?? eBay is taking away all of the color cues that used to be on the screen and just making everything either white, grey or black. Argh!!!!!!!!!! Stupidity!!!

Re: eBay changing all clickable text color to black!! Awful!!!

I bookmark my searches as well -- I find that gives me much more control over my searches and allows me to save many more, and organize them as I see fit. I have not yet begun to update my bookmarks, though. I am hoping that eBay undoes whatever caused this problem soon.

It may be quicker and easier to import those bookmarks into another browser that does not suffer from the black title script bug, and use that browser to view those searches.

Otherwise, using the Advanced Search page to alter the search and then paste that entire new search URL over the old bookmark URL may work better than trying to edit individual URLs.

This is horrible, ebay needs to fix this, I ain't gonna manually paste in kludge workarounds every time I do an ebay search.

@ibt_computers

I ain't gonna manually paste in kludge workarounds every time I do an ebay search.

Try searching from the Advanced Search page, or going from the search results to the Advanced Search page and searching again. Or using a different (non-Firefox) browser.

The the editing-the-URL workaround is for existing searches that are already saved or bookmarked.

The work around does work to get the blue links back, but it doesn't show history of what you have already clicked on.

Yep, at least for now, my links are showing a separate visited color today.  I was skipping searching because of it.  Back in business, so to speak.

Re: eBay changing all clickable text color to black!! Awful!!!

This is EXACTLY our problem to @systemsengineer. Our buyers MUST have the ability to see which hyperlinks we've already visited. The hyperlinks used to change from blue to black (or dark purple) so we immediately knew not to click that link because we'd already looked at that item. This eBay change has absolutely KILLED our ability to know what link we'd already visited. And there appears to be no solution. I guess we just stop using eBay. eBay has to just CONSTANTLY keep changing their web pages and breaking things when there is no need to change the web page. This is costing our company a HUGE amount of time and there's no workaround other than for eBay to revert the web page back to how it used to be and LEAVE IT ALONE! We're investigating ETSY and Amazon MarketPlace and other web sites to sell our goods instead since eBay insists on constantly breaking their web site so we can't do our job.

Re: eBay changing all clickable text color to black!! Awful!!!

Sorry, that 'solution' doesn't work for us. It just changes the text from always being BLACK to always being BLUE. What we need is for the web page to work like it did before... We have to be able to tell if we've already visited a eBay web page. And we USED to able to determine that before because the hyperlink would change in color from blue to black if we'd already visited the hyperlink. So if it was black we knew not to click on it again because we'd already looked at that item. With this new change that eBay has made... The hyperlinks ALWAYS stay black or with the  &_fosrp=1

added  to the end of the web address, the hyperlink ALWAYS stays blue in color. Again, the hyperlink MUST change color if we've already clicked on the hyperlink so that we know not to click on it again. This is the way it used to work and was perfect before. This new way, where the hyperlinks always stay one color no matter if you've clicked on it or not, is a HUGE problem for us.

Re: eBay changing all clickable text color to black!! Awful!!!

Sorry, I should have been more clear in my first post above. The main problem is... The hyperlinks are no longer changing color when we've already clicked on them. Our buyers MUST be able to tell if they've already looked at an eBay item so they know not to click on the hyperlink. Before, the hyperlink would change color from blue to black if we'd already viewed that item.

The way that eBay has changed their web page now is... the item hyperlinks ALWAYS stay either BLACK or BLUE and never change color even though we've already clicked on the hyperlink.

Again, the way it used to work (and it used to be perfect) is the hyperlink would change color from blue to black if we've already clicked a hyperlink and viewed that item. And our buyers need to see that hyperlink color change so that they don't keep clicking on a hyperlink for items they've already looked at. And that's a HUGE problem for us because we look at thousands and thousands of items (hyperlinks) per day. And now, because there's no hyperlink color change anymore, our buyers are wasting a LOT of time clicking on hyperlinks for items they've already looked at before.

Exactly @keepitpumpin44. And that's our big problem to. The hyperlinks need to work like they did before... The hyperlinks need to change color if we've already clicked on them so we know that we don't need to click on them again.

It's 11/17/2020... Actually, eBay did fix the problem for about a couple of weeks, but now, the same exact problem is back again. Same thing...  hyperlinks don't change color from BLUE to BLACK if we've already clicked on them. This is a HUGE problem for us!!!

Re: eBay changing all clickable text color to black!! Awful!!!

11/17/2020... We just looked at it again and we're going to modify what we just said above... The hyperlinks actually ARE changing color when you've already clicked on them, BUT, the color that the already clicked-on hyperlinks are changing from BLACK to a really, really DARK PURPLE color. You have to look at the screen incredibly hard to see any difference at all between the black color hyperlinks and the  dark, dark purple hyperlinks. This is TOTALLY unacceptable!! We don't care what color, already clicked-on, hyperlinks change to but DARK PURPLE is indistinguishable from the black colored hyperlinks. eBay, we need you to change the color of the already click-on hyperlinks to an easily distinguishable color from the unclicked-on black hyperlinks.

The hyperlinks USED to be BLUE and then change in color to BLACK if we'd already clicked on them. It was perfect and what everyone has been used to for over 20 years. Why on earth did you change that?!?!? This is a HUGE problem for us!  Our buyers MUST be able to tell, QUICKLY, what hyperlinks they've already clicked on (items they've already looked at) by the hyperlink changing color to a very easily distinguishable hyperlink color change. Say, from blue, to black - like  they used to.

What a joke!  the problem is back again!  The text does change to purple when you click it, but this is hard to distinguish.  Also it doesn't show what you have already clicked on!

This problem is back again.  I use MS Edge and also tried it in Chrome.  All links are black even when visited.  Very irritating!

Me too.
Firefox & MS Edge.
This has taken place in the past 36 hours, here in the UK.
I'm now getting very close to giving-up with eBay - not just with 'Searches' but with the whole eBay 'experience'.
