eBay Local Pickup is Broken

1. When buyers are shopping on their phones or tablets, the shipping options make local pickup seem like free shipping. (Interface Issues) We're constantly having to cancel orders because they chose "Free Local Pickup" as the "Shipping" option to an out of state location. When asked why they chose that option, they said it says free shipping. Whomever makes the interface is not clarifying the shipping options properly.

2. When a buyer chooses local pickup and decides they don't want an item (and you have Free Returns), eBay auto accepts a paid "Shipping" return and bills us for the shipping label. We know lazy people don't care if the item costs you the seller $150 in return shipping on a "Free Local Pickup" most times, plus they also don't typically have the proper packing materials to send it back. We aren't going to pretend eBay doesn't make money on returns, the shipping prices they charge on returns is extremely high (Probably Retail Price), then they collect their bulk shipping discount as profit.

3. Seems like eBay considers this and every other issue a "Cost of Doing Business" and not their problem, even though it eventually rips away at their profits and customer base.

Suggestions:

1. Remove the word Free from "Free Local Pickup", everyone knows it's free especially when it's $0.00.

2. Fix your shipping options on mobile devices to be CLEAR and decisive about the shipping.

3. If a buyer chooses local pickup, don't give an option to ship the item back on the sellers account as the buyer is the one that made the choice, make them do a local return. Most sellers are okay working with buyers to ship a return back if they can't make it back locally.

4. Give a notice on local pickups that the buyer is responsible for local returns so it's clear.

5. When sellers call with concerns about platform issues, stop giving canned answers that have no resolution, we are "YOUR" clients and deserve the same respect you require us to give to our Buyers.
