This will make me stop buying inventory for my business on ebay.
NO countdown for time left (no last second bid [I can't use snipe software on my platform])
NO offered selection of bid increases to just click on - each bid increment must be TYPED in.
Too bad, I've won many auctions at last second using the old format

I have not noticed any changes in bidding, but it is certainly possible that eBay is rolling out changes in stages. It seems unlikely that eBay would intentionally remove auction countdown timers, though.
Are you looking at an item page, bid history page, or something else?
I still see the three buttons with preset bid amounts when I click on the "Place Bid" button on an auction item page without entering any number. I never use those buttons, though, since the amounts can change as new bids are received which can result in bidding more than you intend to.
It is possible that your browser is not handling eBay's countdown timer correctly -- it might be worth signing out of your eBay account, restarting your browser or computer, and signing back in. Or even trying a different browser to see if that helps.

@ctdelights I understand that rationale ... on the Selling side I personally wish they would use a "soft close" like some estate auction online software does. This adds time to the auction if any last second bids are placed to let it continue to increase the bidding price similar to a live auction.
