yes, I cant access messages, I get the red circle when I click on them, on the phone app its fine

YES.....Same here, too.....we tried a couple of other browsers, but no luck sending or responding to messages....hopefully the issue will get resolved  soon.....

Exactly, prohibition red circle with line through it when trying to read, create or access any messages.

Looks like this is just eBay testing the new “Promoted Messaging” beta.
Don’t worry, once the 2026 Promoted Listings revenue hits, they’ll finally fix this… right after upgrading the hamster running the servers. 🐹💸

It's an issue which Ebay needs to fix.

Some users seem to be seeing a red slash-in-a-circle icon when selecting messages using a desktop browser. Messages may or may not load when selected.

If messages do not load at all, try clearing cache and cookies only on eBay by clicking on the lock icon to the left of the address bar in your browser. You will need to sign back in to eBay at that point, but messages should load again.
