You have exceeded the maximum number of messages you can send. Please wait 24 hours??

so for some reason i cannot message 1 particular buyer.  i get this message, ''You have exceeded the maximum number of messages you can send. Please wait 24 hours to send more messages''.

well i have not sent any messages in the last 24 hours. anyone get this glitch, i know there is a limit but i have never hit the limit.

buyer asked to send invoice, i was just trying to message him back.  for some reason i could not respond to that message without getting that i exceeded my limit. so i went on the app on my phone and it sent over fine to that buyer. i also got a  couple other messages from buyers asking about stuff and was able to respond to those. why would it not let me message that one buyer but could respond to others. and why would it work via my cell app and not my PC. gotta be a glitch.

this happen to anyone else

I have seen similar complaints lately, so you are not alone.

Aside from using the eBay app, you may be able to compose a new message by going to the user's feedback or profile page and using the "Contact" link there. There may also be alternative links that work better for you than the one you are using.

glad to hear i am not alone, i can contact the buyer through the app, and transaction details. since i wrote this i got a few messages from buyers asking questions. and was able to reply to all them fine. i was concerned but was avoiding a long call with ebay as i have found out over time that they rarely answer questions knowledgably and get confused easy.

thanks

Ebay has lately gotten SO ridiculous in these limits, etc. that it's no wonder people are communicating OUTSIDE of their system.  I've been chatting with a buyer, but unless eBay sets a ridiculously low number (like 100 message) as the limit, I'm nowhere close, even using messaging to send shipping notifications to customers.

This is likely another glitch tonight, as eBay seems to have the most bugs pop up on weekends, and having been in programming since 1976 I can't think of a worse site that eBay for bugs like this.  Had their "Excluded Shipping Locations" bug again,  and that's been happening for YEARS, literally - where someone in a country WE DON'T SHIP TO is able to purchase an item despite their country being "blocked".  It only benefits eBay because of the revenue, because we only block countries that DON'T HAVE TRACKING WITHIN THEIR COUNTRY, so eBay doesn't care if the item is "lost" when the buyer realizes no tracking is coming, yet eBay scolds us for cancelling such orders!

I am having this problem, too (am using a PC). Contacted ebay yesterday and had LONG discussion with lovely ebay person who was originally told by her senior to tell me that my messages HAD all gone through, despite me being able to see that they hadn't (and they are not there if I download all the 'sent' message files from ebay). Eventually, the senior saw what I meant and I was told that the problem has been escalated.

"I have just checked with my technical team and they have confirmed me that there is an issue going on the site that members are not able to see the message from their end. However I am escalating the issue to my higher authorities against is that if there is any issue it will be solved at the earliest."

I HOPE so.

I am not blaming the person I spoke with at all - she was a total sweetheart and we really took to each other!

PS it does seem to be PC based and the best proof I can suggest for anyone to give to ebay that their messages are NOT being sent is to go to 'Messages' and then under 'More Options' go to 'save your messages' and download the files as either EML or HTML. I did this earlier and can see clearly that only one message per day has been sent the last few days. I TRIED to send well over 50.

I am surprised that eBay tried to tell you that your messages HAD gone through because I get the message that I have succeeded my daily allowance before I even get the chance to type a new message. I.e it won’t even give me access to the message box!!

**bleep** eBay it HORRIBLE to sell on.. How are you going to put a limit on the amount of messages you can send? Like whaaaat? That doesn't even make any sense.... How is a person supposed to run a business when they can't respond to customers questions because they've reached their limit... What happens when you're a bigger business and have many customers asking many questions... Then eBay gets mad at you for not responding to your customers in a timely manner... It's no wonder so many people have left eBay and why Amazon was able to blow eBay out of the water. On top of that, the fees on here are ridiculous. 13% is a bit high, then you also have to pay taxes so there's no room to make any profit... This site sucks for sellers. They got by far the worst customer service, way too many scammers, ridiculous limits like the message limit, ridiculously high fees, and a HORRIBLE guarantee protection program. There's been multiple times where someone has bought something from a seller only to be sent an empty box or an envelope just so that the tracking number would show that there was a delivery then when you claim you didn't get your item eBay says yea tracking shows that it arrived so the seller wins. Even if you try to say that you did not receive anything in the package they still say you have to take a picture of what you got then you send them a picture of an empty box and they tell you no that's not valid... Like WTFFFFFFF. All they care about is their fee that they take from us, they could care less about our experience and our livelihood.
