This is ridiculous I have spent hours this morning fighting with eBay to get rid of Japanese Yen. Yes I live in Japan and yes I have a Japanese address. I am a U.S. Service Member living abroad with a U.S. bank account and use U.S. Dollars. I have verified I am on Ebay_DOT_com. I have made sure my billing currency is correct "https://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/billing-currency.html" and I see that I can change the currency shown in search results.
But when I view the item and not my "search".
All I get is listed currency and yen. I don't want yen, I never want yen. That is why the currency I selected to pay in is U.S. Dollars. I can lie and use a made up U.S. address. Then the yen goes away when viewing items. Why is eBay making me lie about my shipping address to achieve the convienece of viewing listing in my native currency? But it gets worse. So now I am spoofing my shipping address and I tried spoofing my IP address. Which means I should be as U.S and dollar only as one can get. But somehow "my Ebay" is still in yen. I don't want yen I never want yen.
This is not right. There is no reason I should have to use a proxy like some hacker to alter my IP address and lie about a U.S. shipping address to browse eBay in my native currency. Even that only partially worked since "my eBay" still manages to think I need prices in yen.
I shop online all of the time living abroad and they all let me effortlessly select the currency I want to see prices in. I don't want yen, I never want yen.

USD is the only currency view available on the dot com.
You can only change the billing currency to pay an invoice.
logout and back in?

Are you saying this instruction (from your link) doesn't work.........
How to change the currency shown in search results
When you look at items for sale in other countries, you can choose to see the prices of the items in your currency or the seller's currency.
Make sure you're signed into eBay so we can save your changes.
Search for an item.
At the top of the results page, click the Customize view link.
In the pop-up window, click Advanced Options.
Depending on your preference, select or clear the option to Convert prices to [your currency].
Click Apply changes.
or that it works on search, but not when you click into the item?
