Who screwed up the search algorithm?

I have been monitored Nikon lenses on Ebay for months now, one page for new lenses being posted for sale, and the other page for auctions coming to a close soon.  Now this morning, the filtering is just screwed up and both pages are showing lenses for ALL manufacturers, not limited to just Nikon, as I had set up.  Nothing I try seems to be able to get the filtering to work correctly.

So what the hell?  I'm not going to search through all 172,000 lens listings!  What the heck is the sense of having filtering options if they don't work?  I don't give a darn about Canon or Sony lenses!  I only want to see Nikon lenses and that is it.  Please fix this problem, otherwise I am just done looking at lenses on Ebay.  Honestly, if I were selling Nikon lenses here, I would cease that activity too. The chances that someone looking for Nikon lenses would find what I am selling are now pretty darn slim.

Are these searches continuous - as in are they searches left open in browser tabs that you keep refreshing? Or searches from bookmarks?

If so, maybe try starting one of them over from scratch and see what happens.

I just had a search kerfluffle that appears to be the result of legacy parameters in the search URL from just changing an existing search in an always open tab that are not getting along with the new search. (Haven't figured out exactly what parameter(s) is causing the issue yet).

The same would happen with a bookmarked search if there were a lot of filter parameters in the bookmarked URL, and one or more of them are no longer compatible.

Who screwed up the search algorithm?

I just noticed a similar problem in my saved searches.  It appears that the category has been wiped from the search info.  For example, I have a "castle" search in the LEGO category.  When I click on it now, I get millions of results because it's searching all categories, not just the LEGO subcategory in Toys.  All but a couple of my saved searches are doing the same thing.

Hopefully this is just a temporary glitch that gets fixed soon.

Who screwed up the search algorithm?

Typical 'job justification' by ebay staff. It's not broken, so dont fix it....EBAY. LEAVE STUFF ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Over the last couple of days, each time I go into ebay, it has chosen to ignore my chosen search setup, and just choose its own random search setup.

I'm sick and tired of the chimps at ebay constantly messing with items that work....just so they can tell their boss 'weve made this bit better'......really.....all you people do is mess it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who screwed up the search algorithm?

I've had the same problem for the past month or more. I usually filter out the big box stores when researching prices and sold items but eBay search will always come up empty if I do that. I have to include the big stores in the search to get the other sellers to show up.

Who screwed up the search algorithm?

Thank goodness it's not just me this is happening to.  Every time I type a specidic search I'm getting a blank screen and the longest url I've ever seen. It's so long I've given up.

When i go to Advance search and sold listings it doesn't work for me either.  I have tried IE and Chrome.   If I have a search going it loses what I am searching for, still works on my phone app.  Really **bleep** of ebay to screw up a perfectly working search engine.  I hope they get it fixed soon, it hasn't gone un-noticed.
