When I create a new listing and click "List Item", nothing happens...

This has been happening for about the past week. When it happens, I can't save a draft either, and have to go back and try over, re-editing photos, title, item specifics. This doesn't happen every time but happens a LOT lately (as of 6-10-21), a lot of time is being wasted trying to submit new listings and it doesn't work. Have already cleared cache, cookies, etc, doesn't fix it. Please help, thank you.

I just ran into the same thing.  Ironically it was right after a call to "support" (I'm using the term loosely) after finding out that the "Exclude Shipping Locations" global settings and local (listing) setting don't seem to be the same either - which is why we've gotten orders from countries we don't ship to recently.

This IS frustrating, eBay!  When your site DOESN'T work as it is supposed to, what are we paying for as sellers?  Your site can't be trusted to actually operate correctly, and you've even REMOVED many of the "receive a callback" options to force a "chat" with your "automated assistant", which doesn't have the intelligence found in a house cat.

Are you deliberately trying to kill the eBay venue and corporation?  It seems you've moved resources toward asking us sellers "how we're doing" and "would we recommend selling on eBay?" over and over, and taken resources needed to actually maintain or fix the site.

Really, now - you're facing an exodus of sellers and you can't figure out why?  For starters, no one seems to be "moderating" the forums now, so the issues posted here NEVER reach management, and thus never get addressed.  So what do you think is so surprising about sellers leaving when you seem to have left the site to decay?

Update: I went through and recreated the listing, this time avoiding the "Edit Shipping Locations" click, which I'd done in the previous attempt (that showed me how messed-up THAT area was compared to the general version of the shipping exclusion screen!).  That time the "List" button worked, though the shipping location issue where eBay seems to ignore the rules a seller sets for not shipping to certain countries.   But the listing was saved.

Hiring overseas programmers has bitten eBay in the rear end, just as it has with support.  Some companies will shoot themselves in the proverbial foot, but eBay is the only venue we've seen that takes the time to reload and then shoot themselves with another magazine's worth of ammo!

Re: When I create a new listing and click "List Item", nothing happens...

I have been experiencing  the same issues for the last month or so, and it is continuing today.  I am unable to list anything.  After taking the time to complete all of the fields and load pictures, when I hit the List, Save As Draft or Preview buttons I get the spinning wheel for hours and I eventually loose all of my listing.

I have reached out in Technical support and called and spoke with someone overseas who told me my account was not set up correctly.  When I called her bluff she said you're correct, Ebay is aware of the situation and  IT would contact me.  2 weeks later I have not heard from Ebay and continue with listing issues.   So very frustrating Ebay.

This has also been happening when I try to list. The page either goes gray and does not respond or I get the endless spinning wheel.

Re: When I create a new listing and click "List Item", nothing happens...

From what I've seen the editing of shipping locations is likely not the culprit. None of my many failures to list has involved that. It seems that EVERY time a failure to list or save happens, the vey next attempt with a clean listing WORKS. (So far).

Re: When I create a new listing and click "List Item", nothing happens...

When I click List Item, you know, after spending an hour creating the item, the screen jumps and nothing happens.

There is no error messages, nothing in red for me to correct, nothing needs to be fixed.

Go to Save as Draft, and it leads to an endless spinning circle.

This is not my browser, my cache, my Cookies, when it's happening to so many others.

I can make revisions to existing listings, I can't create a new listing, but only after I spend the entire time writing the ad.

This started last night for me.

Re: When I create a new listing and click "List Item", nothing happens...

Same thing has been happening to me for my most recent two listings.  Ebay will disappear soon enough if it continues to ignore its constituency.  Buyers may or may not be having issues, but Ebay needs sellers.  I will soon start looking for another venue if this problem persists.  I have been an Ebay seller for years, it was always easy for a long time, then . . . something happened.

Re: When I create a new listing and click "List Item", nothing happens...

Happened the 2nd time today.  Click submit listing. Won't do anything. Try to click save draft.  It spins in endless circle.  This happened the last time I listed.  So this appears to be a hit and miss.  So with how ebay changes the site for things we NEVER want them to change.  The site gets worse.  I would bet it will take them a year to fix this.  EVERYONE bombard them with calls to fix this or they WONT.  It is NOTHING we are doing.  There is no fix on our end.  THEY NEED TO FIX THIS NOW.  I am so agitated I have to redo this listing that took me 20 minutes to do.  This is the worst run site on the web.  STOP WITH THE CHANGES, it does nothing but lower our sales.

Re: When I create a new listing and click "List Item", nothing happens...

UNBELIEVABLE, THAT JUST HAPPENED TO ME TWICE. TWO DIFFERENT ITEMS LITERALLY TOOK ME A HALF HOUR TO WRITE, ADD THE PICTURES, CHECK OFF EVERYTHING IT ASKS FOR. I.E. SIZE, BRAND, SLEEVE LENGTH, PATTERN, WHEN PRODUCED, MATERIALS ETC. PLUS, I'M NOT COUNTING PREPARING TO TAKE PICTURES, SETTING UP CAMERA, TRIPOD, RING LIGHT, RETAKING PICTURES. OH, AND THEN WHEN SOMEONE TRYS TO LOWBALL ME BECAUSE I CHECKED OFFER PRICE. OK, THEN WHEN YOU DO SELL IT, MAKE MAYBE FIVE DOLLARS, THEN YOU HAVE TO TAKE YOUR TIME FOR THE RIGHT PACKAGING. SOMETHINGS ARE EASY WHERE YOU JUST PUT IT IN A FLAT RATE ENVELOPE, OF COURSE STILL WEIGHT AND MEASURE IT. LUCKILY, I HAVE MY OWN SCALE AND THERMO PRINTER SO THAT CUTS TIME. THEN OFF TO THE POST OFFICE. MAYBE A TWENTY MINUTE DRIVE. AT LEAST NOW YOU CAN SCAN IT AT THE APC, BUT IF IT'S TOO BIG TO GO IN THE ROTATING CONTAINER OR DRUM, SORRY, MY MIND IS NOT WORKING NOW, THEN YOU HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE TO GIVE TO THE PO CLERK. I PITY THE NEWBIES, WHO I SEE ALL THE TIME WHILE WAITING IN LINE, THEY'RE BUYING A PACKAGE, TAPE AND LABEL BECAUSE THEY HAVEN'T LEARNED THE TRICKS OF THE TRADE. OK, I'M FEELING BETTER NOW GETTING MY RANT DONE. BTW, IS THERE ANY RECOURSE TO THIS, AS I'M A PERFECTIONIST, I WANT MY HOUR ADDED BACK TO MY LIFE. JUST KIDDING, IS THERE ANY RECOURSE WITH EBAY? PLEASE GIVE ME ALL YOUR SUGGESTIONS. THANKS.
