What is going on with search?

No matter what I search for, I get five items.  For example I searched for "2011 FJ Cruiser Passenger Side View Mirror."

The results said 36 listings, but it only showed five.  I typed in "1940 Ford" under "cars and trucks" and it says 59 listings, but showed only five.  No matter what I type, it gives a return of five items.  What gives?

Try clearing your browser cache.

This has just started happening today, all works just fine in incognito mode, tried clearing the cache however this had no effect at all, so what's up? 

Chrome, Win 10 desktop.

I got it to work by going into Advanced and searching by price. Hopefully a temporary situation.

The clear cache default time range is for "the last hour" in Chrome -- one user has indicated that changing that time range to "All time" and deleting the cache worked for them, while other spans did not.

Just FYI, I'm using the same thing you are (Windows 10 OS, Chrome browser, desktop version), and the search is working correctly for me.

Well did nothing extra since posting, decided to retry the search on the same page that was showing only the  five results just now and it's back to normal !?!

Wonder if others are now fixed?

Try going to ebay.com and signing in there or else using the site map link:

https://pages.ebay.com/sitemap.html

From there, try to navigate to one of your My eBay pages such as your Summary page using the links on the page rather than a bookmark (or vice versa). If that does not work, try another browser.

If searches are displaying only a handful of results despite showing higher numbers, try searching from the Advanced Search page, or else clearing your browser cache (change the default time frame from "last hour" to "all time" when clearing your cache).
