Does your Watch list page load completely (header and footer), but with no items? And refreshing or reloading the page does not alter things?
I have noticed once in a while that my Watch list page seems to stall with no items showing, but reloading, or a hard reload (shift-reload) usually restores it for me.
Your watch list items should be viewable on your Summary page, if the problem is with your Watch list page itself, rather than your items having been deleted.
I do not think it is possible to delete your Watch list itself the way other lists can be deleted, though it is certainly possible to delete all the items on it.

The Watch List page is there, but no items. Have tried reloading to no success. Also no items when I go to the Summary page. I deleted some items in the "Unsold" category lst night, but that isn't even in the same area as the Watch List page. I have a not happy husband!

The only other possibility that I can think to check is that those items might have been moved to another list. You can see the items on all of your lists at once using the old "all lists" link:
If that does not turn up the missing items, then it appears they have been deleted.
Some of the most recent watched items may still appear in your "recently viewed" list:
https://www.ebay.com/myb/container?key=recentlyviewed
You might also be able to re-run some of your account's most recent searches by going to ebay.com and entering single letters or numbers into the search field and seeing what suggestions are listed -- the first one or two suggestions are typically from the most recent actual searches from your account, and the others are general eBay suggestions based on others' searches. That may help to find some of the items, or similar ones at least.
Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions. Will have the husband look at the recently viewed (that I did not look at) to see if any were on the watch list.
