Warning note

A couple years back I sold an item to an USA based buyer who canceled the order upon buying. I had sent him a full refund, however they were claiming more money then the amount that I had recieved from them. I have contacted eBay explaining the situation, but haven’t used eBay since, just finding recently that my account got suspended. I suppose the reason this happened may be due to the US Trump taxes, as I am based in Europe, but that’s just my theory. Anyway, my old account got suspended and the buyer never got all of their money back, so yeah.

I'm confused. What are you warning us about? 🤔

This occurred a couple years ago? Why would this be relevant today?
A couple years ago Trump wasn’t in office Biden was.
Congratulations! You just announced in a public platform that you violated eBay policy by creating a new account to circumvent a suspension.

That’s what happens when you sell abroad. Don’t argue with me! I’m not the enemy!

If I ordered something from USA to Europe, it is likely that I would have to pay the tax, however I would pay it at the post office after the fact, or in contrary the item would be returned to the seller. But due to eBay being American I guess, if you are in the USA and are buying something from Europe, tax is automatically added to the bill, and the price that you pay on eBay techniclly differs from the one that the seller is seeing/recieving/selling for. Now, this may not be true at all, but all I know is my account got SUSPENDED and I am never buying or selling to the USA again. And btw, this was in 2020. so technically Trump WAS in the office at that time, but never mind him, this is not about that. I feel that I have been treated poorly by eBay by having my account suspended. If I have violated any eBay policies by creating a new account, by all means, suspend this one also, I  sincerely do not wish to keep violating any eBay policies.

First you said it was 2021 then you said it was 2020. You can’t seem to get it straight. Trump didn't impose tariffs until this year.
Regardless, it was several years ago get over it.

There is no chance that your problem is the Trump tariffs, and no chance that you have a clue how they work.

If the buyer wanted a refund of any tariffs they paid, it would be their responsibility to apply for a refund in their country.

You need to think about what Ebay rules you broke because eventually Ebay will close your new account because of what you did using the old account.

They will when they connect the two accounts.

Have a great day.

"I had sent him a full refund, however they were claiming more money then the amount that I had recieved from them

What do you mean by that? Do you mean that you didn't have enough funds to cover the refund because of ebay fees and you didn't have a backup source for the balance you owed the buyer?

What did the suspension notice say was the reason for the suspension?

I had sent them the money that I recieved from them, simply put. Suspention notice states ‘non payment’ of  67 $ as reason. I have only found that email now thanks to you. The item had originally sold for over 500 $ I think and it was the first and only sale I ever made, as I was mostly buying.

Was I supposed to refund them extra?

You were supposed to refund what they paid, not what you received.

If you had done a full refund, your fee's would have been refunded and you wouldn't have owed that $67.

Have a great day.

I am writing this here because there is no other way to contact eBay although I have already tried explaining it to eBay. They don’t seem to get it. The item was listed and sold for one price including shipping, the buyer wanted another price as a refund, they wanted back the money which I haven’t even recieved as payment. I told them, dear eBay, I am not paying extra money, I geve them all their money back but there was no explanation. They still want me to pay.
