Hi all. This has been happening to me for several days now--at first I thought it may have been just me or my account, but (on the rare occasions when they ARE able to get the messages) I've had several sellers (and counting) comment about the "message system" at Ebay not working, and now I'm seeing threads here about it (of which most are LOCKED now!) Additionally, I no longer get any emails even though "Send a copy to my personal email address" is always checked, and the people to whom I'm sending messages rarely get them! I even tried a search for that phrase and nothing! I've sent dozens of emails to sellers with no replies so they obviously are not getting them! Now I'm not even getting what I send in my "Sent" folder so I don't even have a frickin' record anymore of what I send! Ebay hasn't mentioned a frickin' thing about it here at the message boards, not on their "Announcements" page, NOR at their FaceBook page! This is MOST SERIOUS because this is SERIOUSLY screwing up buys, sales, AND auctions! (As others have mentioned) don't let them feed you any of their **bleep** about "nothing is wrong" or "...it's working now"! https://community.ebay.com/t5/Technical-Issues/email-check-box-quot-send-a-copy-to-my-personal-email... . They're even LOCKING THREADS about it apparently trying to cover it up: https://community.ebay.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Messages-are-not-working/m-p/26926152/thread-id/28052, "Due to the length of time that has passed since this thread began, we have locked it from future replies", even though there were 3 additional replies in the last few days!! No doubt they'll soon COMPLETELY DELETE these threads! So HTH are we supposed to tell them that this is problem is escalating?? (Something else that's screwed up here; I can't add any frickin' "Tags"! Look at this non sequitur garbage: "The message tags contain a, which is not permitted in this community. Please remove this content before sending your post." WTH?? "a" what?? Comma?? There's SUPPOSED to be commas in the tags!)

It's screwing up EVERYONE's business! Have you tried to contact them? For anyone that does try, they need to know there are several NEW threads about this and that it's happening to many members!

I stopped getting emails from eBay a couple days ago. To find out if I have offers on items I have been going into the eBay app instead of relying on emails like I usually do. I also have only been getting PayPal emails when I sell an item, not emails from eBay.

I just started a thread on the iOS board, didn’t see this one. I wrote:
I’m getting ebay messages ok on my phone and on the www site but not on my ipad
its 13.41 now and I had a message in at 12.15 , still waiting for it to appear in my messages
my app and iOS are all updated
To make things worse, I’ve been getting newer messages followed by ones that were a day old and more from the same person. This made the conversation very weird and I was told not to contact them again because they didn’t know what I was talking about!!!

This is SERIOUSLY screwing up Ebay and they OBVIOUSLY DON'T GIVE A #$%&!@ about this even though it's COSTING THEM MILLION$ EACH HOUR! Imagine the countless transactions that are NOT happening because people have UNANSWERED questions, the countless items NOT being sold for both auctions and "Buy it Now" because there's ZERO communication about said items! How are people supposed to actually contact A HUMAN about this?? Not that it would even do any good because you KNOW they are aware of it, but still NOT A SINGLE WORD from them about it!

Yes, I'm having the same problem. I sent a few messages to a buyer after I accepted a Best Offer and after their payment I sent a question but I have no idea if they're receiving my messages because the message is NOT going to MY email inbox. This is incredibly frustrating because I need an answer from them before I ship their item!

For the first time in ~a week I'm finally starting to get emails for "Send a copy to my personal email address". Can't comment on the other notification issues yet, but at least that may be working now. Anyone else?

called Ebay cs about the messaging issue and was told there is no messaging issue.

bear with me on this as im not usually one to comment on forums etc
I understand the frustration above
I have been having the same issue for at least 4 month or so
no notification - no message in inbox ( or email on gmail/ hotmail etc)
however when i click on HUB- select selling - sort by message- theres so many to answer
Now click on answer message- and all i see is a blank question with buyer ID only
i have to ask each buyer - " apology but ebay message is messed up, can you please re ask the question"-only then when they respond i see the message
Note: If the buyer ask another question relating to another item- samae problem
Now with ebay technical team
at least 7 phone call with over a month follow up- no result
only way i could proove the problem was to ask them to logg in mine and see the screen etc which tbh the call handler did pretty well and saw the problem
however they said they are aware of it and no solution yet
so sorry folk no good news- last phone call wasmade on 1sst week of august 2019

(I don't know what you mean by "HUB"). You need to show that to Brian brian.t@ebay . (Even though I told him about it) I don't think he's even see this thread, he's been on another thread about these same problems. Although yours sound much more serious.
(BTW, why is it every time I try and post something I get this erroneous garbage?? "Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied." This is when I don't even USE any "HTML"!! And the so-called "changes" it mentions are to absolutely nothing, the post is exactly the same!!)

If you are copying and pasting snippets of text or links into your message, it is possible that you are picking up extra formatting along with the text. Typically the message system will strip that formatting out for you without making any visible changes (or just minor formatting changes), so if you get that message, you can just do a quick scan to make sure that nothing important has been lost and hit submit again.
Alternatively, to avoid getting that message, you can try pasting your excerpt into a text field (a search box in your browser address bar is handy if the excerpt is not too long), then double clicking on it to select it again and then copy and paste it into your message from there. That should strip out any non-text characters for you.
