Hi! I am selling on Ebay after a long hiatus. I am working on a MacBook and have a Rollo printer. I am accessing and printing through Chrome as I understand it's more compatible with Ebay than Safari. I did initially set my Rollo printer up when I was using Safari, but I don't think that's relevant.

Tonight I purchased and voided 3 shipping labels for the same item. The first time the preview was wrong and I figured out I had not changed the label preference to 4x6. Once I did that the orientation looked correct on the sample page on the sold item page. I went and purchased the postage a second time. I didn't see a tracking barcode on the preview, only my return address and the customer's name and address. I believe that information took up the entire preview page, I thought maybe the tracking barcode wasn't showing on the preview, but would be printed on the label. I was wrong, as I paid and printed it twice with the same result. So, now I'm 30 dollars in the hole waiting to be credited for voided labels. I may have to pay a fourth time and run the package to the post office and have them scan the QR code. I think that was an option?

Does anyone know why the return address and customer's name and address is printing correctly, but there is no tracking number barcode to be printed (I never saw one on the preview)? That area of the label is blank and you can see where the black border on each side stopped.

Not entirely sure how it works on a Mac, but I have seen similar posts from Windows users.

Try opening your label using a PDF reader rather than using your browser. If you still cannot see a bar code, you may be having a problem with font substitution. See if there is an option to print as an image.

If you are using Chrome, it likely has reverted back to using its built in reader to open the label file. You need to set it to open PDF files with Adobe and not its built in reader, especially when using a label printer.

When the label preview opens in Adobe, you will be able to see the printer's label outline and the label should fit edge to edge with in it. This is with Size set to Actual and Orientation set to Auto. Also depending on the printer you may or may not have to check the box to "Choose paper source by PDF page size".

Thank you for the replies. Interestingly enough, I did pay for postage a fourth time the next morning this time requesting a QR code so that I could get my item shipped while I tried to figure out my printing issue. Guess what, I never received the e-mail with my QR code so I called Ebay. I spoke to them 3 different times and each time they were no help. None of the customer service reps knew why I didn't receive the QR code via e-mail when I had been receiving all of Ebay's other e-mails. They had no explanation. It's still a mystery. I had a feeling the label issue was on my end. When I made my next sale I went in through chrome to print and the same thing, no tracking number. This time though I knew I could reprint the label rather than panicking and voiding it. I made sure it was a PDF file which it said it was. I then decided to go in through Sarafi (which I have seen repeatedly isn't great with Ebay label printing) and sure enough there was the label with the tracking number on the preview. I did have to change the paper size to 4x6 when printing. I am now printing my labels with no problem......using Safari. So, no fix for chrome....but a workaround using Safari.

On a side note the third customer service rep I spoke to ASSURED me multiple times if I went into the post office with the tracking number in hand (but nothing for them to scan) that they would print me a label there on the spot. I didn't believe this, but desperate I gave it a try. I can confirm, no USPS will not print a label for you (at least at my post office) unless they have something to scan. I drove back home remembering there was a QR download option and downloaded the QR to my laptop. I then e-mailed it to myself so that I could have it scanned from my phone at the post office. If that didn't work I was ready to take my laptop and package to the post office, plunk my laptop down on the counter and let them scan it from that lol.

Now, does anybody know if I will actually receive a refund for the 3 voided labels? I selected void on all of them and it still says "void requested" under shipping label section for that item. But, it also says item delivered under all the labels too as it was delivered through the 4th label (all different tracking numbers). I don't know if that means it's in process, there's something more I should have/should do or I won't receive any refund unless I call Ebay?

The refunds usually take about 3 weeks so give it some time.

I've never had an issue with printing labels using Safari.

Chrome is a different story and often when there's a problem it has something to do with the browser's settings. If you keep digging you might figure it out, though I don't think it's worth the effort unless you prefer using Chrome over Safari.

Chrome has a habit of reverting to its built in reader to open PDF files. You need to set it to open PDF files using Adobe. Ebay it a bit picky about this, especially when using the label printer formats.
