UPC code on New package

We are entering a UPC code from a new package of Matchbox and eBay says "Invalid Value"

This is going to be a HUGE problem for us to try and list if this keeps happening.

eBay should NEVER roll out a new system without checking to see if it works or not.

Whenever I have issues with a UPC code or there is none I put "does not apply".

Even though that package may be "new," it is possible that the manufacturer has discontinued that particular model, making that particular UPC number defunct.  

This happens very frequently in ALL lines of manufacturing, as new items are introduced, and older items are discontinued:  the old UPC numbers become de-catalogued, and are eventually re-registered for new items.

(For example, many publishing companies de-catalogue and re-register the same ISBN number, over and over and over again!)

Since there are only a limited number of UPC numbers available (as well as ISBN numbers), this is a natural by-product of manufacturing.

Just enter "Does not apply," and move on.
