Trusted devices not listed....

Why is there no way to add a "trusted device" to the trusted device LIST on eBay website? I made a recent order on my usual device (PC) on my usual Browser (Chrome) and got an email from eBay stating that I made an order on a "new" unrecognized device and so eBay "locked" my account until I "changed my password." What's up with this? eBay is the only online shopping venue I've ever had this much "trouble" with re Loggin on (having to re-enter my Password each time I turn a page or wish to change a preference AFTER I've already logged on. Also, this having to "change my password" every time I order something from eBay on a device eBay doesn't recognize because it won't let me list that device in my Acc't settings is a REAL PAIN. I believe in taking precautions but this is over-kill.

Anyone got an answer to the "trusted devices" and being locked out just because eBay didn't recognize my "device?"

I believe you need to enable 2 step authentication in order to add a trusted device.

But it is not necessary to have a trusted device listed to use eBay. I have no trusted device specified, and I rarely have to go through verification unless I explicitly sign out and erase my eBay cookies.

The "new or unrecognized device" email has to do with your browser not being recognized by eBay most likely due to either IP-address changes or cookies not being recognized. Are you using a hotspot or a VPN? Either of those can cause verification issues.

If you are having to sign in on every page, then that might indicate a problem with your browser not updating or saving cookies correctly. Or possibly a corrupt or blocked eBay cookie. Are you blocking third party cookies, using enhanced tracking protection, using a script blocker, or using privacy software such as Ghostery or Disconnect? Try temporarily disabling those.

Or try another browser and see if the problems persist.

If eBay is actually locking your account then eBay may have reason to suspect that someone unauthorized is signing in to your account. If there is nothing suspicious about your own sign-ins, then perhaps eBay has noticed someone else's.
