Tech Support Forum: How to revise a product Rating not feedback.

Hi Tech Support forum,

I originally posted this topic at the following address but received no replies:

http://community.ebay.com/t5/Getting-Started/How-to-revise-a-product-Rating-not-feedback/qaq-p/27093...

Perhaps someone in this forum has an explanation or workaround? Here's a copy of that unanswered:

"

. . . Last year I bought a product and it worked well. I had an idea how to make the product's installation easier so I posted it as a product *rating* (aka a "review"). Before continuing, note that the word "rating" seems to be used by many eBay'ers when they actually mean "Feedback".  In this thread, I'm talking about the written "product ratings" link that we see to the right of the five stars. Clicking tha link takes us to the "Ratings and reviews" section of the listing.

Since I wrote that review, I've found that my suggestion begins to fail after about 12 months. As a service to the community and the seller, I'd like to either revise my review and note why the idea failed. Alternately, I could delete the review if I can't edit/revise it.

"

I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions on how to handle this.

Regards . . .

Re: Tech Support Forum: How to revise a product Rating not feedback.

Once a review is left for an item there is no way to revise it or delete
If you are the seller & believe a review is more a feedback for another seller then you can request ebay to look at it & possibly remove it.

But I guess you can add a review, since ebay allows anyone to add a review to any item, the difference is if you are reviewing a purchase it says verified & will show the sellers ID you purchased from.
If you are reviewing an item you didn't purchase it will say not verified, however you could always put in the review that this is a follow up to my verified purchased review from MM/DD/YY

Not really sure what else you could do.
Can you see your original review ?

Reviews are supposed to be the same as Guides (user generate content). You might try this...

Click on this link -http://my.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbay&CurrentPage=MyReviewsAndGuides&gbh=1

That is supposed to be your Guides management page.

Another user with several guides has issues with their guides, as well. One of the eBay associates says the issue has been fixed (upload images). I do not have any guides or reviews, so I have no way to check this.

The other member I mention did say that the management page sometimes says they have no guides and other times shows their guides. IDK

Just because I always like to try to stay in the know Smiley Happy

Hi dollybeauty,

May I ask how you navigated to that url? I'm logged in but still only get a page not found page.

Thanks . . .

Did not navigate to that page. It is a link in my local tickle file that I probably picked up from a post on this community, as most are.

This is what I see...
