Stay Signed In Default has Changed

This just popped up yesterday. It looks like someone changed the default of this setting to be checked. It has been unchecked for years and years. Yesterday I noticed I wasn't being signed out when I closed my browser. 

I unchecked this, signed in, and closed my browser. Then when I open the browser again it is automatically checked.  Are you adding now another checkbox that I have check/uncheck to the login process? It's been unchecked for years. Now it seems the default is checked.

There is also a setting in your Account Security page here under "Sign in preferences":

Check to see if that has changed.

And before you say cookie or browser settings I tried this on a browser I never ever use for anything like this. I signed in, I signed out, the checkbox was checked when I went to sign in again.
