As of early February 2023, ebay packing slips will no longer print using Firefox. Don't know if ebays system will no longer sync with firefox when printing the packing slips or if it is the fault of Firefox. I follow the proper procedures for printing packing slips as I have done for years, which includes customize and click "done", etc. Then when trying to print, it pushes out blank pages. The preview is blank as well. ALL WORKS FINE WITH MICROSOFT EDGE. Hope someone has answers for this as I really like using Firefox. Thanks

Thanks for all the replies. I have at least found the problem area. Turns out that it is neither PDF, my printer, or firefox. I discovered that when I use the big blue print button at the bottom of the packing slip page, it only produces blank sheets from the printer. However, in the upper firefox toolbar and using the print feature in the "File" dropdown, the packing slip prints perfect, as it does using the added print icon at top in the address bar. There is also a print feature in the little toolbar at the top of the packing slip page at the far right which is found by clicking the double arrows and it works perfect as well. So, in three other places the packing slips can be printed without using the download button for anything. So, in summary, the blue print button at the bottom of packing slip page does not function properly in that it only produces blank pages. As I have said numerous times, you do not have to take the extra step of downloading packing slips because pdf is built into firefox. The only problem is that the blue button is the only one of 4 printing options that will not allow proper printing. If anyone has had this problem or has any ideas as to why the blue button won't produce, please reply. After 21 years of selling on ebay, this 77 yr old man won't quit till this little problem is corrected. Thanks

Check your Firefox settings and see if you can set a PDF reader as your default method to open PDFs. Sometimes an update can alter your settings. PDF readers seem to be more consistent in being able to print PDFs compared to opening the same file in your browser.

Rather than choose "Print Label", choose "Download Label" (right next to it) from which you configure Firefox to "Open Label" as a PDF. Then when Adobe Acrobat opens the PDF, you will see the label----print it from that program. See the Applications post left by user eburtonlab once you open a PDF, and then further configure it there.

I'm well aware of using pdf & downloading, but I would like to have it the way it has been for many years in that firefox opens the file automatically & prepares it for printing without downloading. The application that's shown above is very old in that adobe acrobat is not an option anymore.

Thanks for your replies. Actually what I'm interested in, is whether firefox still works for anyone else where it opens the packing slip & label printing page automatically without the extra step of downloading. Until a couple weeks ago, this has always been the case by simply setting the firefox application to PDF and "open with firefox." If anyone else can still do that, it would tell me that there is a setting problem with my Firefox that may have occurred during their last update. Thanks

That may be a problem if Firefox does not successfully open that PDF and instead gives you a blank page.

You can avoid having to do the explicit downloading step by setting your browser preferences as above.

The image is current using the latest version of Firefox Developer Edition. The standard Firefox edition works the same way.
Adobe Acrobat Reader is still very much available. You may need to install it on your computer.

In my experience, the problem with using the "open with Firefox" option is that it is simply not reliable. It sometimes works with a particular document, and sometimes does not. Perhaps you will be able to figure out exactly what is going wrong with it so that you can make it work for you until the next Firefox update causes it to stop working again.
Using a dedicated PDF reader to print PDFs is simpler.

Thanks for all the replies. I agree that Adobe pdf may be available but as of several years ago you have to pay extrra for it. From the time that adobe was no longer free, firefox had it's own pdf built in whereas you did not have to use the "download" button but it has suddenly stopped working with printing packing slips. I should add that it still works with shipping labels, just not packing slips. Also, microsoft edge has it built in, eliminating the use of a download button & it works great. I simply want to know if anyone else is having the same problem using firefox as I have, that is that it will no longer print packing slips without using the "download" button but instead just produces blank sheets.

Adobe READER is free and always has been @craftsbydan - check the link eburtonlab posted above.
Adobe Acrobat, a program that lets you edit PDFs, is not free.

You are very welcome.
Adobe may charge for their full service PDF editor, but the Acrobat Reader is still available for free download. The Reader is fine for printing documents. There are other free PDF programs as well.
