I'm getting this "Its not you, its us" message everytime I search an item. While I can see there are plenty of other messages about this issue going back over many months, none seem to suggest a remedy, or if this is being worked on. I have two laptops, both with the same issue, yet my phone app seems to work. Is there a cure, a fix, or at least being worked on?

That is a generic error page, so it is not surprising that others have posted about it. There can be many possible reasons for winding up on that error page.
Currently you are on the US ebay.com site -- you may have been directed here by the first error message you received. Did you originally start on the ebay.co.uk site?
How are you searching? What, if any, keywords are you using?
Previously there was an issue that users in the UK encountered, where searching without using keywords by choosing a category and hitting the search button would direct users to the US site. If you are encountering that, try using a word or two from the category name as your search terms and try searching again from ebay.co.uk.
