Seller page reflects 23 items Sold, but with canceling Scam purchases, I might only have 5 Sold

I'm new at eBay. Since day two on eBay, the number Sold has been incorrect and my total dollars made has been incorrect. I have been canceling Sold items from Scammer purchases. I thought, the numbers would go down, and reflect the cancelled sales, but instead, they've been increasing! Right now, I have 5 Sold items that are possibly Scammer purchases, too! I thought, the number Sold would go down to 5 to accurately reflect what is Sold, but, as of today, it has increased to 23 Sold, showing I made close to $800.

My 5 Sold items, if they are legit, totals approx  $185 with shipping! I've sent 2nd invoices requests to the buyers, and they still haven't made a payment.

They sent me emails via eBay messaging to contact them outside of eBay, either with a phone call or text message. They provided me their email address or phone numbers for me to answer their questions, so they can proceed with a payment, or send them extra pictures of the item. One asked for my phone number and email address, so they can contact me to ask a question. My response to all of them was, "I would like to answer your question, but Bay suggests we answer questions via eBay messages." They never ask me a question via eBay messages, and it's been 4 days since their purchase with no payment, yet.

My main concern is the coding needs to corrected to reflect accurately the number Sold and total dollars earned. On my second day, it showed 9 Sold, when it should have been 6, and  3 of those Sold items have been cancelled; hence, the number Sold should be going down, not up.

Don't worry about that.  You did not get paid that amount.  The amount that shows you got paid is what you worry about since that is the amount that Ebay reports to the IRS.  What you need to do immediately is add the following information to ALL of your listings.   This will cut down on the scammers.

ALL items must be paid within 4 days and must be paid ONLY through the Ebay system.  Click the PAY NOW button to pay.  I will NOT respond to any questions after the item has sold. I also verify ALL payments in MY EBAY before I print the shipping label.   Items unpaid after 4 days (96 hours ) will be cancelled and buyer will get an unpaid strike.  Paid items will ONLY be sent through the address that is posted when I hit the print shipping label.    This will definitely ward off many scammers.

You are prime beef for them.   You are obviously selling pricing items that they want for free.  Remember, that all payments that you receive will say its from Ebay Managed Payments.  If it says PAYPAL, for sure it's a scam.  Today's sellers never know how the buyer paid.

You can also list your items with IMMEDIATE PAYMENT required.

Smart advice not responding to a request for a text or phone number.  Only scammers ask for that.

First off, ALL the SOLD items that I see for you were sold on the 18th and the 19th.  If you have not been paid for ANY of those sales, you should be able to cancel, citing as the reason "Buyer did not pay" after the 4th day of nonpayment.

There has to be something missing somewhere in the information you have provided here because I see only a few SOLD items, not 23.

             90-day total

40 Active.    23 Sold.     0 Unsold

I changed all my listings to bidding, and no more Best Offer, because they would give me normal to crazy high offers, for example, offering $50 -100 for items worth $20 or less, or doubling their Best Offer over my asking price. My items are not high end. I sent 2nd invoices to them, yesterday, for a payment, and asking them, if you do not want this item, please let me know, and I can cancel your order; however, no response or payment, yet.

I didn't know about giving an unpaid strike; however. 2 of my Buyers who asked for my phone number and email address, or via eBay messaging gave me their phone number and email address to contact them, joined recently, as I did, and after I sent them an email saying eBay doesn't want us to contact anyone outside of eBay messaging, now reflects, they are "no longer a registered user", so I can't give them a unpaid strike. Another buyer had an id, I'm not showing the real letters, like (abaa####), next time it shows something completely different, like (abcbdf_####). eBay replied, Buyers can do it, so who do I give the unpaid strike to?

Do away with auctions also.

list a s fixed price with immediate payment required to get rid of the nonpayers.

Have a great day.

the best way to get thru this to the other side is to stop sending invoices

sending a fresh invoice can extend the period to pay

its imperative that you learn the correct use of the cancel button

you will need to wait the full 96 hours and then cancel for "non payment"

just say no to texting and phone number stuff

no matter what you do, some  buyers are going to try to get over on you

waiting it out to cancel can be a pain but its the correct procedure

good luck

I cancelled,  but I couldn't select for non-payment, because it did not show in the drop-down menu. I had to select incorrect address.
