Search results not showing main listing image, it's showing a random variation image.

When searching for specific products, the results are showing random MPN/Variation listing images and not the main listing image. 

This is causing confusion as it looks like the listing only has one product, and not multiples that would typically be found in a Variation listing.

I have been having the same problem with one variation pic showing in search instead of main photo. Anyone knows when/if it will be fixed?

We are all waiting for this to be fixed.

This will be the 2nd week coming up with no main photos on

any listings in search.

Does anyone feel like crowdfunding legal action? I am having the same issues and not getting anywhere with "customer service". In fact I have just received the following message:

....I completely understand your frustration about what happened, however eBay's policy is that we don't offer compensation when our services are interrupted. While we do everything possible to ensure our service to members is uninterrupted, unforeseen issues can arise from time to time. We work hard to fix these as quickly as possible but, should our service be interrupted, our User Agreement states that eBay is not liable for any loss arising from use of our site....

How is this even acceptable when we are paying for a service?!

According to the eBay user agreement, sellers have no rights at all

to expect that when we pay for a listing, choose a main photo, that

they have an obligation to SHOW that photo! THAT IS WHAT WE PAY FOR!

They KNOW we are losing sales due to this glitch and they are not fixing it in a timely manner.

I have been having this same problem for going on three weeks now have contacted ebay weekly and they give it to tech team each time . Nothing has changed as of today 22/06/2020 its still showing wrong and random picture from listing in searches . What can I do this is killing my sales and feel like ebay is doing nothing . Lots of sellers of similar products listings are also showing wrong pictures as i can see when looking through search . Obvisouly ebay is not in control of are able to correct this glitch . So dissappointing when you put in all the work and are then let down by the platform . Not good ebay not good at all !!!!

Just done a chat session with eBay because for the 1st time in 10 years selling on eBay I have had no sales at all today.  When I sear for my products it is only showing an image of the most popular item in the variation.  So search for a particular dog harness only shows a black one and not the main image that has all the colours on it

I think this is one change too far and I will now concentrate on my other outlets and just let eBay die off.  Their loss

There is no other venue that has the traffic eBay does.

My main images are showing because I removed all the variation photos.

If you click on use default photo they all go away in one click.

The nightmare is when I find out it's fixed, I have to put them all back!

Called last Friday, gonna call again this Friday. Business has dropped 50%. 

Noticed the same variation always appearing in search so added the main photo to that variation and then swapped them over so that the variation photo is pic no.2 on that variation,. checking in my shop it worked for a lot but some seemed to show a different variation from before. Thinking it cycles through the variations.
I don;t think this is a bug at all, I think they 'changed something' as they always do, found out it's rubbish and now are struggling to change it back.
Wish they would leave the **bleep** site alone, it works fine as it is.

Had I not removed all the variations,

I would never be getting the sales I am getting now.

Yes, the variation photos randomly change,

so the only one you can leave is the main one.

eBay is losing fees as well, hard to understand how

they can let this go on for so long.

Also having the same issue. Makes it appear as though there is only one style available instead of the variety of styles we purposely display in our main image.

Sales have dropped off by a lot.  Unfortunately I'm not able to remove the variation images due to the type of products I sell.
