Please discontinue this policy of redirecting people to other auctions! I often, if not always, bookmark an auction to follow and possibly bid on. If I do not bid, I am still very much interested in knowing what an item I am interested in sells for, particularly a collectible item. Bookmarking an auction also saves me the trouble of having to sign in, if I don't need to as well. What the hell is wrong with you guys? It's rude and disrespectful to begin with, not too mention stupid since you redirect me to items I have no interst in or are not the same item at all - similar is not the same! It's an idiotic policy / feature. You're not helping anyone at all with this.

@cmgl First I have to say I agree and hate this. That said I am sorry to say it's here to stay.
If you see the message in the screen shot when you are redirected to the other item click on the clickable listing link line like the one that is highlighted in my screen shot.
IF you are redirected to a featured item without the clickable listing link then you have to work a bit harder to view it but it's still possible.
You have to change the i to itm, then you will be redirected to a listing with a clickable link.
https://www.ebay.com/i/Coach ........ ( the rest of link has been removed as it's not needed for this example)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach......
To my disappointment it sounds like this change is here to stay according to Bob Kupbens, V.P. of Seller and Marketplace Operations.
He did say in his video chat that he's open to suggestions to making the message clearer on how to view an ended listing when you are redirected. You can here his reasons for this change here:

Thank you. It turns out I watch or bid on comic auctions and related items.
First off, I am not sure your links are working. Is it supposed to be a coach?
At the moment, I don't have time to watch the video, but honestly, I do not care to hear his reason(s). Other than trying to force advertising other related products to drum up sales, it's just a moronic policy. I will admit that if I get redirected to exactly the same item then OK, but I still want to know what happened to the one I was watching. Oddly enough, I have never used the Watch List, so I am trying that now to see what happens there. I guess that would be the same thing except I have to sign in.

@cmgl No the coach example is just to show where to change i to itm, they are not live links.
But you only have to do that on redirects that take you to a large featured listing that doesn't have the message like in my screen shot.
I think that redirects are pretty much always going to the listings that have the clickable link now.
Just look for the word "listing" in the message that says the "the listing you are looking for is no longer available" Then click on the word listing.
The video is just about Bobs reason for why ebay is making us crazy with this change. No need really to watch it unless you want to know.

My apologies - I did not notice the screen shot as it simply looked like a line break of some kind for the page itself and I just scrolled past it. Admittedly, your post was a little confusing, but I understand it now.
Thank you for the help. Maybe more people will complain enough to end this paractice, but like you, I guess it's here at least for a while.

Noticed the same thing today. The item that ended was not the same as the Item, I was redirected to. I had a hard time getting to the ended auction. I wanted to see. Stop redirecting.
