You seem to be using the old Classic view. You should have the option to switch to the new view at the top right of the list. The new view does away with the Delete Item link on each item and adds a check box to the left. Check the box and hit delete button which pins itself to the top of the list. That delete item button in the classic view hadn't worked properly for months for me. The classic views are being phased out rather quickly now.
