The same thing is happening to me and to add insult to injury, I did not put the best offer on my listings. eBay added the best offer and informed by email that they added it to my listings. SO FRUSTRATING. When I try to remove the best offer, I get a message stating the changes can't be made to my listing due to 'an internal application error'. I can't remove the best offer or make any edits to any of the listings that eBay changed to accept a best offer. eBay also added the option to 'automatically decline any offer lower than' an amount that is 50% of my original listed price. If I wanted to allow buyers to make a best offer, I would have added the best offer option myself.
This is so incredibly shady and very disappointing to my buyers when I have to inform them that I was not aware that the listing had a best offer option and no matter how much I apologize, it only makes both eBay and my reputations look bad. The only way to get rid of the unsolicited best offer is to end the listing and relist it. Very unethical! If only eBay could get a grip on meaningful, productive business practices rather than the greed driven schemes they keep coming up with. They keep pushing the ethical boundaries but this time, they have overstepped my tolerance ceiling. Their nerve and arrogance makes me so mad. It's so wrong from so many perspectives. Just sickening.
