Rapid refreshing of my ebay page

I have noticed that about 15 minutes into end of an auction, the bid page starts refreshing like crazy.  The page refresh alternates between '0 sec remaining' and the actual remaining minutes. For example: 

repeating:

0 sec remaining

14.59 minutes remaining

0 sec remaining

14.58 minutes remaining

0 sec remaining

14.57 minutes remaining

0 sec remaining

14.56 minutes remaining

0 sec remaining

14.55 minutes remaining

.... and finally:

0 sec remaining

0 sec remaining

It is as if something is trying to stop me from bidding -- which is what happens as it is difficult to bid when the page is being refreshed every second. 

I wonder if anyone is experiencing the same problem?

Does the page work normally if you use a different browser?

Are you using an ad blocker?

No, I have used the following browsers and same result:

Brave

Chrome

Microsoft Edge

Firefox

Opera

In some but not in all of the aforementioned browsers.

I have been using these browsers with the same settings and ebay pages run fine on them. I started noticing this problem a few weeks or months ago.
