Having the exact problem. Woke up to a new, broken interface one morning last week. Unable to ship anything I sell since. Essentially dead in the water. Cannot print or even purchase a label for anything, no matter what carrier or rate class.
12 hours over two days waiting for both a call or an online chat from eBay to get help for this. Finally got a human and I went around and round with him explaining the problem seven or eight times. Eventually, the third manager I talked said "yes, it's broken" so use PayPal for shipping and since this isn't affecting everyone, we'll fix it when we get around to it. That doesn't work for me. I need FedEx 2nd day and insurance. My last question to him was, since this is a major problem, not being able to ship anything, costing me significant money paying retail without the eBay rates, when will it be fixed and how will I know it is fixed; moreover, how will you be compensating me for the extra cost of paying retail rates, the extra stress, and the trips to the counter at FedEx or USPS. His response? You can't make this up: This guy told me that you'll know it's fixed when it works again. UNBELIEVABLE! Regarding compensating me for the difference between what postage should cost and what I'm actually having to pay for it at retail, his response was, essentially, call back and wait (likely another 10 or more hours to get a human) and ask that question then. Basically, there was nothing he would do.
This company is the worst kind of SCUM. As far as they're concerned, we are here to make them money. Period. They care about nothing else and you and I are nothing to them. I bought or sold $20,000 worth of stuff this weekend on eBay, and this is how they treat a good revenue producing customer/seller??? Just about had it with these clowns. This is a hobby for me. Hobbies are supposed to reduce stress, not induce it.
Remember the joy you felt when you used to hear the cha-ching of a sale when it came through on your phone? Now it sends a tingle of terror through my body worrying about not being able to ship whatever I just sold or how much it's going to cost beyond what it should! On Paypal, I am only able to print USPS labels. No FedEx. No UPS without a UPS account so that's not a viable alternative or workaround. And, of course, they're forcing me to use USPS at a time when they're experiencing major delays. The exorbitant charges they skim from us should support a site that works for every one, every time. Not just when it's convenient for them.
