I have seen a couple of instances repored on the Member-to-member boards, and run into this issue myself just recently.
When using the Watch List page to navigate to other lists using the Watchlist dropdown menu in Firefox or Chrome, clicking on any part of the dropdown, *including the scroll bar* causes the dropdown to close. This makes it difficult to select some lists if you have more than four, as only the first four are shown by default and the rest are hidden and require scrolling to access.
Workarounds include using a scroll-wheel mouse -- hover the cursor over one of the list names, and use the wheel to scroll down the list. If you don't have a scroll-wheel mouse, you can use the "tab" key on your keyboard to step through the list.
It's also possible to step through the list by clicking just below the scroll bar slider location, and then opening the dropdown again (and again).
The dropdown seems to be working as intended in the Microsoft Edge browser, at least for me.
From reports, this seems to have started some time around 10/19.

I believe the limit of custom lists is fifty, so if you have that many, you will need to delete some of them to create new ones.
Why are you unable to reach your custom lists? If you are having trouble scrolling through the dropdown on the Watchlist page, have you tried the workarounds mentioned at the top of this thread? If possible, try using another browser.
The standard way to get to you other lists is by clicking on the large "Watchlist" heading on your Watch List page:
https://www.ebay.com/myb/WatchList
Some folks using tablets have complained recently that that no longer works for them.
One other way to reach the items on all your lists is to go through the "all lists" link:
From that page you should be able to move items from one list to another using the "more actions" link on each line. If you consolidate some of the smaller lists, you can delete them and create new ones.
Another way to reach a list is to add an item to that list from an item page. Once you have added the item, you should see a blue bar at the top of the listing that says "Added to your LISTNAME list | Remove" where LISTNAME is a link to the list. If you use that link you are taken to an old version of the list; from there you should be able to bookmark the list or to delete the list using the edit menu at the right side of the list.

The real problem is that ebay tests its builds on the customers and forces them to do SQA for free by reporting bugs through the ebay community.
I am actually not sure how to get to the community forum or whether it is part of ebay at all. The path to this very forum is not clear! I am answering through Google right now.
I found the path to my lists soon after posting.
My lists were nowhere near 50.
Thank you for your response.

Certainly eBay could do more to ensure that things run smoothly, and that various bugs are addressed in a more timely manner. But in fairness, eBay can't possibly guarantee every possible version of every platform and browser, and every combination of custom extensions and add-ons will always play well together with eBay's web pages all the time.

There is a "Community" link on the bottom of most eBay pages that will lead you to the community pages. Once you are logged in, you should be able to click on your username in the upper right corner for a link to your community profile and your latest posts. The community pages are hosted on eBay's servers, so they are part of eBay, though they are administered by Lithium on eBay's behalf. Mostly they represent a forum for users to share information and have discussions.

You're entirely welcome. The watch list and other lists are extremely helpful to me in my buying on eBay, and I use them quite a lot; when they are not working right it causes problems for me, so I take an interest in understanding their capabilities and limitations -- in part by reading lots of posts on the community pages. If I can help other people avoid unnecessary frustration, I like to try share the various tips and tricks that I have uncovered or that others have shared with me.
Good luck!
