I recently posted a thread on the 8 step login process I have to go through ... it's about 25 to 30 seconds worth of point, click, captcha (2), slide, point, click, etc and the last step WAS a reminder to register for Managed Payments ... that one seemed odd but since they already wore me down with all the other "you know what" I just click through it ... until today ... NOW that last step is a sales ploy for Promoted Listings ... so, that last step they make me go through is 150% unnecessary and has nothing to do with a secure login ...

@mr_lincoln - We registered for MP before the July 15th deadline, were activated on August 7th and were still getting that reminder to register at log in as well.
Charles has been made aware of it and was working on it, so maybe they finally got it taken down for those already registered and have just replaced it with different marketing messages now?

Are you using Firefox? I switched to Chrome and got rid of the 2 Captcha nonsense. Also, in Communication Preferences > Promotions & Survey, I set them all to No, (uncheck all boxes), that eliminated most of the Spam, unsolicited offers on things I looked at, etc.

@valueaddedresource Ahhh, you and I were in the same Indoctrination Class ... the Class of 8-7-20. Unfortunately, Charles will be powerless to change how eBay uses that last login screen, that's eBay pushing their agenda not an MP function.

@mr_lincoln - I always figured that particular screen was more of a marketing/promotional banner type of thing, which is why we kept getting that nagging message even though we were already registered - it was just basically a generic message slotted into that "ad" space (for lack of a better term) and wasn't actually tied in to whether or not you had taken the action being prompted by that message.
Personally, I don't care much one way or another what eBay puts into that space - as long as it isn't something that is going to cause confusion (like making people question whether they had actually successfully completed a required action like signing up for managed payments).
But I can definitely see how it would be annoying if you are already going through a multi-step sign in process due to captcha/verification issues as well.
