No views on eBay

I hate to break it to folks, but welcome to the economy our government has given us.  This isn't an E-Bay issue.  Yeah, E-Bay is knocking EVERYONE'S sales out, so they don't make money either... and they just won't fix that bug, because they want their stock to tank.  Now does that make sense to anyone?

You probably don't realize it yet because the media won't  tell you, but we are nose diving straight into a Great Depression.  Only people in their 90's may have an inkling at what that means.  In a few months, you will be hoping your sales were as good as they were now.  Today will be the good old days compared to what is to come...

You aren't getting any views because no real humans are looking at your stuff.  It is a rude awakening for most people.  Most views on E-Bay were just bot traffic from aggregator sites.  It has always been that way.  I have items that used to get 1000-3000 views per month.  Now the same listing gets 50-100.  That listing was made so that it would always populate to aggregator sites, and the views were bot views.  The 50-100 number I get now is actually the number of humans that find the listing; either searching E-Bay, or linking in from an aggregator.

I don't know why people care so much about views.  It only takes one view to get a sale.  Do you think Wal-Mart knows how many people pick up a toaster and look at it?  Nope.  They just know how many sell and how long they sat there.  You are trying to blame no views for no sales, except that isn't what is happening.

People aren't responding to your offers, because they need gas and food; not stuff off E-Bay.  Cut your prices to bottom dollar and you may get someone who will choose it over buying gas and food.

Otherwise, plan to wait out the economy; which will be at least 2 more years of a steadily declining economy, plus several more years of recovery.  You aren't going to have another year like 2020 or 2021 for at least another decade.   If you are lucky, you may be able to get back to 2013 numbers in 5 or 6 years.

If you are going to judge your success by you performance in 2020 and 2021, the brace yourself for years of dismal failure.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but elections have consequences and every person on here complaining about their E-Bay sales are reaping the rewards of government action in 2020 and 2021.   Don't  take your anger out on E-Bay.  Direct it towards the officials that were elected and currently hold office!  They are the reason your sales are down, not the view counter on E-Bay.

Hi I am having the same problems with zero viewings even on new listings that always used to get views really quickly.  What it and where would I find the Ad Blocker???

I don't disagree with you on the economic situation having something to do with it, but it can't be the full explanation.   Increasing economic pressures would have cause a downward slope, sure.  But what I am seeing, and what I see many other people reporting, is a step-change downward, mid-May, about the time when the "bot views" were removed.

Since then I have had reports of customers who were having difficulty shopping my items because they were being repeatedly challenged by Ebay to verify themselves as human.   I strongly suspect that Ebay is inadvertently shutting down human shoppers along with bots.

Similar story for me.  Since the change has been made I have seen a substantial drop off in views, which in turn has reduced the number of watchers/offer and ultimately sales

Can you please share what other markets you are listing on?

Stupid question, but how do you turn off the ad blocker?

Interesting. I use the ebay app more often than brosers. Ad blocker would mostly be found on web browsers, Safari, Edge etc, yes? Or do you mean in the app? Just for experimentation, I did check ebay app to see if I had customized ads from ebay turned on or off. It was off. I turned it on. I don't want to be bothered with ebay seller related offers, IE loans. But they frequently send me those any way, even with offers turned off. Lame.

Yeah I know people are saying "the economy" but none of my listings appear in search results at all. Listings placed 8+ hours ago so definitely time for them to have been crawled or whatever. I am effectively shadow banned.

New listings can take up to 24 hours to be indexed; if you revise before the listing appears, it goes to the back of the line.

I have the same problem.  My items have few to no views, and when I do a search for "carnival glass", newly listed,  then scroll back to the time they were listed, none of them appear.  Items were listed over 12 hours ago, have not been revised and still are not showing up when I search.  If I cannot see my items, then other potential buyers are not seeing them either.  I believe this to be a major problem for ebay sellers and buyers.

Excuse my ignorance here, but what are "bot views"??

Items were listed over 12 hours ago, have not been revised and still are not showing up when I search.

Newly listed or newly relisted? If relisted, they will sort by the date of the original listing, not the relist date.

See here and note where in the sort your newly listed or relisted items appear:

"Bot" views are views software program driven views as opposed to views initiated by a person searching directly. eBay no longer counts "bot views" when displaying view numbers.

The five that show as August 4th do not show up if I do a search of "newly listed" and scroll back to the time yesterday that they were listed.  They were all "relisted" too, and have been relisted several times, so they are not showing up by the original date, it's the relisted date of yesterday.  I feel like there is a bug in that newly listed search routine.   If I search ending soonest, for the next 24 hours of items ending, my items are always there, but not when I do a search for "newly listed".   Makes no sense to me..

They are sorting by the original listing date, not the most recent relist date. Which is why they do appear, but lower down in the sort than you are expecting. Did you look at the link?
