No email notification when item sold

I was selling an item since 12/22 and it apparently sold on 12/23 but I never received an email notification about it.  I checked my spam and trash folders also but nothing at all from ebay.  The only email I received from ebay at all was right after the listing went live on 12/22.  I didn't realize it sold until I checked my listings on ebay.com by chance on 12/24.  By then it was too late to send the item out.  Even when I went to the page to print out the shipping label there was a warning message that I had to send this out asap.

The reason this is worrisome is because the buyer paid for 1-day priority and now I can't get the item out until Monday 12/27 because that's when USPS opens again.  This is a problem for me as well as I may receive bad feedback and I failed to get them their item as soon as possible and they may threaten to return it.  Why was I never sent a notification and was this a service-wide issue at that time?

Don't check your 'my ebay' by chance, check it (the site) numerous times a day when you have something for sale and again for 30 days AFTER shipping/selling things.

I understand this mentality when you have a lot of listings, but I hardly ever list anything and when I do it sits for many days or months at a time.  I didn't check it the next day but the 2nd day.  You can see why I would rely on an email notification like I always have received in the past.

The email was probably flagged as spam somewhere and blocked.... Put the eBay app on your phone, and set it to only give you alerts when you get messages from buyers, and when items are paid. This will give you what you need, without things that you don't. Even these alerts don't always come through. I also get emails that don't come through until a day later, however I sell enough that I see that it sold when I load orders in my shipping program. Explain to the customer what happened. As long as you communicate with them, and apologize, it usually turns out OK. What really sets people off is when there is a problem, AND they are ignored.
