Dunno, but it has been happening for a while............ and I like it.
Allows me to keep my initial point of reference as I venture off to look at a particular listing, and then just click it off to be back where I was in my search process.

There is a setting in your search customization menu that controls whether item listings are opened in a new tab or the same tab. From your search results, click on the menu in the upper right where you can switch between list or gallery view, and select "customize" to see that option.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU , THANK YOU for your reply to this question! I was unaware you could modify these settings. Like you, I prefer to have items listed in a search result open in a new tab, but for the past week or so this hasn't been happening. Oddly, when I went to this menu, that option was what was checked already, but hitting the apply button apparently did a reset and things are working nicely now. Doing this also fixed a problem where the listing descriptions in the search results were not changing color when clicked on...this is, of course, was very frustrating in terms of keeping track of which listings were visited already when doing multiple searches.
Thanks again.
