Make users enter the package weight for the shipment label to avoid time wasted trips to parcel drop

Problem: The incorrect weight was entered onto the shipping label even though I had selected the correct parcel dimensions which said that it was for up to 20kg - see screenshot, with my package being 3.7kg. When I took the parcel to the drop off point they said they could not accept it as the shipping label weight was incorrect, showing only it to be only 0.001kg. When I got back and checked I saw there was indeed an option to set the package weight. However this was blended into the background being the same grey colour text and it was set to a default. I have read that this has also been an issue for other people on this forum

Solution: Do not set a default weight and make as a requirement that the user has to select a weight before being able to select the shipping option. Also colour the weight selection input selection a different colour to the grey text eg the ebay blue colour used on other selection fields.

Question: How do I get a refund for the original shipping labels I paid for and printed out which indicated that I had selected the correct option up to 20kg?

Hi @griffux

I see you are in the UK, this is the US Community, you may want to log out of here and post on the UK boards.

For what it is worth, our listing tool (for PCs) has the Shipping section that begins with the two weight fields and next are the dimensions.
