Large pervasive bug affecting millions of users.

Ebay no longer works properly in the latest Firefox.  Messages, specifically, no longer load. Links don't activate. Other parts of the site are broken as well. This has been happening for me for at least 2 days across multiple versions of firefox. This is affecting people other than myself as well.

Have you deleted cookies and browser history? Often, especially for members who do not sign out, eBay may make a change that does not get reflected in your current cookies.

It is also a good idea to have a working knowledge of an alternate browser. Chrome, Opera, etc. I am a fan of FireFox, but have other browsers to cover the eventuality that FireFox may not perform some function that I may need right now.

eBay is continually updating this site. Some advice given may have changed. Please reply to this thread, to let us know if this advice works for you. The links on the bottom of any eBay page can help you deal with most eBay issues. Contact eBay Customer Service on Facebook.com/eBay or Twitter.com/AskeBay

Yes, I've deleted cookies/cache/history and am still experiencing this. I've also confirmed this with other Firefox users. Firefox is my primary browser but I also use IE, Edge, Chrome, and Opera. Still, Firefox has a large market-share and tends to stick to W3C standards, so this is most likely an issue on ebay's end. I could be wrong of course.

Are you able to read/reply to both sent and received messages? Latest firefox 55 (32-bit)? I only upgraded today after I noticed it was happening with firefox 47 yesterday as well. I use ebay daily but I've also had this confirmed with one guy in Germany that rarely uses it, and another in the US that also rarely uses it, both Firefox users with latest versions.

Yep, same problems here with Firefox on Windows 10 - only noticed it within the past couple of days.  I've cleared cache, deleted cookies, turned off AdBlocker and tried FF in safe mode - all to no avail!

However..... eBay site links all work perfectly using M'Soft Edge browser, so I don't know if this is some recent eBay/Mozilla incompatibility?

...ok so it appears this is an issue on the .co.uk version of eBay; if you instead go to the .com site using the same login details, the site links all work perfectly, as soon as you revert to .co.uk the links stop working again...

eBay - can you cast any light on this please!?!?!

We're experiencing the exact same FF/Win 10 issues.  (Where ebay only works on Edge)  However, on our Win7 computer, everything works fine. Running FF 55.0.3 32-bit on both.

Apparently it happens on ebay UK and ebay US, since I only use ebay.com

FWIW I'm running FF 55.0.3 (32-bit).  The only workaround I can come up with for now is to click on a link (at which point it seems to put the address into the FF address bar) and then press Ctrl + R which activates the link.

A cludgy solution but it seems to work.  As for which direction the finger-of-shame should be pointing, i.e. eBay or Firefox - dunno!

It's interesting to note that you're having the same issues though on the .com version of the site.

BTW I did notice that continual clearing of the FF cache (Tools/Options/Advanced/Network/Cached Web Content - Clear Now ) sometimes works for a few links, then the problem returns - only clicking the link followed by Ctrl + R seems to work consistently.

Whatever the root cause it is fast becoming a major PITA which one would hope will be addressed PDQ by the eBay tech's.

I have been having this problem for days as well. It began around 08/28. I often am forced to halt processes and refresh the page to get Ebay to function, for instance: I will type in the search bar and hit enter. The results appear and if I try to click on an item, it will not take me there. If I try to re-sort the page based on price or anything other than the default "Best Match", it will not take me there. Once I finally find an item and click on it, I have to halt the progress and refresh. Then it will show up immediately. If I wish to purchase it and click "buy it now" it freezes again. Each and every task that I try to perform is doing this to me, even as I'm typing this I have been waiting on a page to load that will not load. No issue with this forum thus far.

I've been having similar issues as outlined by some below, mostly the links and drop dwn menus not loading fully without refreshing the page. Have found the culprit I think, it seems because of the changes Mozilla are making to the coding of the add-ons (extentions) element and having implemented legacy status to most of the add-on/extentions I use (and you use no doubt) you need to disable all of your ad, flash blockers, translation tools - well just disable everything! Then re-introduce ellements one at a time whilst trying navigate an ebay page open in another tab, you should thru trial and error find the culprit. For me the culprit was U-block Origin, once this was either disabled or deleted everything was fine; I re-enabled all other extentions one by one including Flash, translator, including Bluhell firewall which is similar to U-block and few other less active add-on's and everything is tickety boo. Try it, might work for you too....

I am having the same problem. USA site, latest Firefox 64-bit Windows 10. I have to reload every page for it to load properly. Is ebay ignoring this?

Did you actually read all of the posts? My post perhaps......Mozilla are having a big re-work of the add-on element of FFox to be rolled out fully in November, prep work happening right now. Most add-on's will have to be rewritten by developers. It's to do with addressing the problems with the unscrupulous writing malicious code into add on's and causing havoc, the revisions should stop it, but not with out a little pain for you and me first.

Updated my Firefox to version 55.0.3 and am now experiencing the same issues. Links no longer work, the right click context menu brings up a laundry list of the entire catalog of options and the entire eBay site is totally unusable.

Every other site I visit is fotally fine ... no issues at all.

Judging by past & current history with eBay, I would wager a guess this entirely an eBay problem.
