JS:Redirector-BKD

Starting today...everytime I sign into eBay...my virus protection (Avast) keeps going off stating it blocked a virus. It also states its coming from ebay. I can go everywhere else on the internet with no problem. It says it's a JS:Redirector-BKD(TRO). I scanned my computer with two different VIRUS programs and Malwarebytes and it found nothing in my computer.

Hi everyone, it looks like some solutions were provided in this thread that appear to resolve the issue with Avast. Has anyone tried these troubleshooting steps and still running into the problem?

My issue only comes up when ebay does there popup sign in, i dont use a bookmark.  When i go to revise or end a listing. So no, the solution does not work for me.

@berserkerplanet

LOL, now a download of ccleaner.exe comes complete (bundled) with Avast! There is a opt out mesage and check box, but I failed to see it before I clicked install.

To uninstall...(Win 10)

Right click on the Windows icon (Start menu), click Apps and Features, wait for the list to populate, click on Avast, click uninstall.

The Avast uninstaller will take it's time, but does uninstall Avast. Reboot after to fully remove the package.

Re: JS:Redirector-BKD

Ah yes it's back. How annoying.

It's a false positve indeed. Still annoying. Hope Ebay manages to get rid of it whatever they encoding on the page once and for all.

It isn't eBay's problem, it is Avast's. eBay has some bit of JavaScript that kind of, sorta maybe looks like a bit of code that may appear in a trojan, but is not in any way malicious, but Avast has sensitivity cranked up too high and calls it a threat. Those detections can be as simple as some of the code being obfuscated - which is the case for the the script in question rrbundle.flat.min.js)

It wasn't an issue until Avast changed something in their virus definitions they pushed out to you. (Same as last time, and the time before. And the problem went away when Avast tweaked their detections - probably due to customer complaints. Same thing for Norton when it false detected on eBay.)
